I just wanted to share my memories if a great ten days in Scotland last month. We went from the East Midlands to Loch Lomond, Loch Ness, Wick, John O’Groats, Durness, Ullapool, Skye and Stirling.
Not forgetting of course Applecross!
The driving was great and kept me on my toes, the weather held off most of the time but threw it down for the Applecross day.
The only problems I had were two punctures (bloody runflats) and the small amount of nagging in the left ear.
Thanks to all who advised me (Steve)on the route to take and I hope you like the pictures, courtesy of the girlfriend

Cheers
Ben

Yer, everybody was really friendly. Nearly went to a wedding in Durness.
The nicest people are the ones who pull over on the single track roads!

You obviously did'nt go to the wedding as you would'nt be home yet and able to give us those marvellous piccies.

Looks like the basis for a TOUR?

There are plenty of superb roads in Scotland that are ideal for driving pleasure.

I guess that you'll be back?

Great pics. Can I ask how you did the internal one that looks like a fish eye image?

The talented girlfriend, it's a 10.5 Nikon Fish Eye on a D200.

Well done on a good trip and some fab pics. Sorry the weather was crap. Did I see you exiting Shieldaig? Think so - (Me in black Vantage) Either that or there were two minis with the same stripes!

Don't think I would miss an AM, Where is Shieldaig?
I think there may be a few MINI owners coppying me however.
Thanks for the advice, I will be up there again when I decide what car to buy next...

'Where is Shieldaig?'

In your top pic - you are standing 7.5 miles from Shieldaig. (The sign behind you says 'Alternative route via Shieldaig) If you went round the Applecross road, you passed my house smile
