Steve - much as I love Doune, there is a lot more to the Scottish speed scene...A full 2008 Calendar will be available on www.scottish-sprinting.co.uk and www.scottish-hillclimbing.co.uk, once everything is confirmed. Be patient - it should not be long....
Thought I'd post on this thread to say I'm looking forward to getting the dates and introduce myself. I'll be entering the events for the first time and can't wait! I'm entering in my T&T'd nissan 200sx, don't know hardly any of the tracks so I wouldn't worry too much lads
Here's my car at knockhill incase anyone recognises it:-
Looking forward to getting to know some people involved in the scene, especailly as I'm a first timer!!
Cheers,
Dunc.

Welcome to the Scottish Sprint/Hillclimb Dunc.
We are a friendly bunch and the tracks are not too difficult to learn, though people do manage to go the wrong way at Alford ocassionally. Not me, yet, I hasten to add.
My first event of the season looks like being Fintray, hope to see you there.

Since this seems a thread for introductions... thought I'd take the opportunity to say hello too
Taking my tentative first steps into speed events and I hope to enter a few events this year, after cutting my teeth at (wintery) Lossie in July. Red Caterham 7 1600 - with a driver who was wearing a very noticable racesuit loaned by Fd
Really hoping I can get an entry at the (presently it seems) unmentionable venue (I'm quite close to it ).

Anyone who wants regs and dates for 2008, drop me an email on the info address from www.scottish-sprinting.co.uk and I will email them to you once they are ready.
People who competed this year - don't worry, I know where you live....

People who competed or people who entered your championships ?People who competed this year - don't worry, I know where you live....
Yet again - not the same . . . so do you intend only to inform those who have previously entered your championship or the community in general ?

Thanks K13job for showing common sense. As has been the case since Noah built the Ark, next year's Scottish Championship regulations will go out to everyone who was registered this year by default. In the past, we have placed announcements in the motorsport press, inviting people to contact the co-ordinator for regulations. The wonders of the Internet mean that we no longer need to do that - which is just as well, as the mainstream motorsport press shows little interest in club motorsport these days...Yet again - not the same . . . so do you intend only to inform those who have previously entered your championship or the community in general ?
Enthusiastic volunteers we may be, but mind-readers we are not - if you want regulations Fergus, you will need to email me and tell me where to send them. Sending them to 'Fergus Duncan, somewhere in Scotland' will not work at the Post Office.
And lastly - and for the avoidance of any doubt whatsover - it is not 'my' championship....

Got it Dunc - thanks - Scottish regs should be emailable next week with Lowlands shortly after I think. Printed take a bit longer to be available as they have to go thru - believe it or not! - a printer!! Cheers,
Dunc.

I am pleased to be able to say that the 2008 regulations for the Guyson Scottish Sprint, Hillclimb and Speed Championships (subject to MSA permit) can now be downloaded from the www.scottish-sprinting.co.uk website (they are at the bottom of the 'Information' page).
No gimmicks - just a great series of the best sprint and hillclimb events that Scotland has to offer. By ther way, did I forget to tell you that, for 2008, it is "BUY ONE, GET TWO FREE!" For the normal £20 entry fee, you get the sprint, hillclimb and speed championship entry - and for newcomers it is HALF PRICE!
(OK - I lied about the gimmicks......)
