I can't offer any exacting advice apart from try to do applecross

beyond that if you stick to the north west you basically will find it hard to go wrong

And if you are from london don't look at property prices

Who me ?

You could try a round trip -Inverness - Kyle then down to Armadale, cross ferry to Mallaig. You could try hill walking to the hill lochs above Mallaig ,or up from Loch Morar.(Map and compass needed -if poor visibility, you can wander up there for days ) Fort William - some nice walks up top of Glen Nevis - (so I'm told -never wandered more than about a mile from the top car park), or from Banavie up the canalside (and if you don't want to come back that way ,there's a "tunnel " under the canal where you can cut through and return on the other side . If you can still get up there - go through the distillery grounds at the end of the A830 and follow the path up toward the pipeline through the Ben . (If it's still there ,beware of the pressure relief which shoots up out of the ground on the ridge )
Fort William back to Inverness - via Spean /Roy Bridge and Laggan .
