Not 100% this is a Traffic car, but got a very good look at it this morning:
LG60SNJ - M74/M8 Glasgow.
White E90 3-Series, looks like an SE model and has the same wheels as below. No markings on the plates, LEDs in top of rear window and a camera attached to the windscreen. Just one guy on board dressed in black, sticking to inside lane below speed limit.
LG60SNJ - M74/M8 Glasgow.

"330d Authorities Auto" and MOT exempt by the looks of things.LG60SNJ - M74/M8 Glasgow.

Good spot.
Really weird spot yesterday as I really wouldn't have guessed. I didn't get the reg but a light blue metallic Peugeot 308 of all things pulled someone in Wilkieston on the A71 going into Edinburgh. I only noticed as the two police persons were chatting to the driver of the van they pulled and the front of the Pug had twin blues in the grille. Most unusual.
Oops i put this in the wrong section earlier
now put it right
Don't know is this is a common spot?
But this morning i seen a royal blue unmarked Astra with two uniformed officers
on Baird Street just after RS Components, stopped a black cab
Sorry cant remember reg,but i think it was an SF
Yet again unmarked white 3 series heading east just as you come of M8 to join M74
stopped some guy with all it's blue lights blazing
now put it right

Spotted that white BMW in Edinburgh yesterday...they pulled someone over.
There is a black Audi estate too I've seen it a few times around Hermiston Gate.
Seen the white BMW on M8 towards Glasgow end this morning, parked on the hard shoulder behind white Transit van. Didn't get plates as it was on the other side of the road but was on a look out an hour later on my journey back and it wasn't around anymore. There is a black Audi estate too I've seen it a few times around Hermiston Gate.
mfr ^^^
Some of these vehicles you speak of are best left un-publicised. Apart from officer safety they are as they are believe it or not for our benefit, and are not at all interested in pulling over folk for speeding tickets. (e.g. drugs, surveillance, public protection, national crime)

The purpose of the thread is the complete opposite of what you are advocating. Revealing number plates and descriptions of police vehicles is unlikely to affect officer safety imo. Some of these vehicles you speak of are best left un-publicised. Using an unmarked car in traffic is like shooting fish in a barrel. They know drivers are soft and easy targets.
Anyway, not sure if this has been mentioned, but SWB black shogun was on the M8 on Wed evening, completely unmarked and had stopped someone - blue lights all over it (well, hidden!)
Anyone else feel really resentful towards traffic police in unmarked cars?

Not particularly as they are a great way to catch people on their mobile phones and generally being idiots behind the wheel. I would feel resentful if I had been stopped for being a little over the limit but on the two occasions I have been stopped for speeding by an unmarked car I was more than that so fair enough imo.Using an unmarked car in traffic is like shooting fish in a barrel.
