I'm sure a few days ago I heard Real Radio mention Strathclyde were having a year-long speeding 'crackdown'?

Yeah, but occasionally you'll hear them come out and say they're targeting young drivers/speeding/rural roads/drink driving/mobile phones etc specifically for a period of time. Which is really annoying, because they're basically saying last week/month/year they wern't that bothered about it? If they were really serious about targeting a specific issue, they'd just do it and not tell anyone. Folk will soon get the message, rumours put the s ts up people quickly enough. Just proves what a load of s te it all is. If a law is worth enforcing they should put the same effort into it all the time. Edit: Bingo, found it. Sounds more like a Glasgow City Council thing.

Silver Astra SF61 Astra pulled a white Mazda on Renfrew Road just up from the shell garage.
Definitely need to keep an eye out for this one, seems like it gets about! Very discrete tbh

Parked up in a layby.

Very discrete, looks a bit too poverty-spec for you to think potential traffic car. Didn't catch any aerials, mirrors etc.

There's two XF's doing the rounds in the Central area now - drove past someone being pulled by the dark silver/grey one underneath the Marches in Stirling earlier this evening, very had to spot them.

Saw it in Hamilton earlier having pulled over a taxi driver outside the Phillips factory

I saw an umnarked silver Astra in Heathfield Road in Ayr the other day. So are these cars quite common in the force then?
Also spotted that silver unmarked 3 series in Irvine t'other day too. Saw the lights on the corners of the front bumpers..

SF10 DVA - Silver Focus Estate with a very police-like heavy duty 'dog guard' between boot and back seats.
Not 100% sure if it was an unmarked car - anyone else seen this one?

Another poverty spec and filthy Astra on the new M74 at Polmadie, very small lights along top of glass in rear hatch and behind rear headrests SF61KTX. He came flying up behind me (I saw it miles behind and was doing speed limit by the time he caught up), right behind from lane 3 into Lane 2, behind me then cut off into filter lane and flew down off ramp at 70 ish. Don't know if he was making a point as I was making good progress for a while!

Why do I just get the feeling that shortly my clean licence of 25 years will be collecting its first points?
Been able to dodge all the normal traffic unmarked Volvos, BMs etc but now seeing more and more poverty spec Focus and Astras being used.
The final straw will be if they drop the SF plates!

I'm also convinced I saw an unmarked older-style (2008-ish) 5-door Astra on the M74 at Hamilton one day a couple of weeks back. It had the flashing LED in the back window, but with a private plate I think was M33CHC

XDA said: Fire fighters car? Not sure, but it was parked up on the hard shoulder behind someone, and the flashing LED was on the *back* window, which looks odd on a fire car

Not unmarked but there has been a lot of cars getting pulled by the trafpol at the section of the A725 just before it meets the A8 junctions.
