In fairness, not that sneaky if they were there for you to see. I used to go out with the gun now and again - you're safe up until a point and when you hit the trigger speed....3 points :-(

Just never seen them out with a speed gun in the dark before.

Not an unmarked car but worth telling you lot just because it was unusual

8:00pm tonight I came out of ASDA Robroyston it was raining and dark, I came out of ASDA left at the roundabout

to head onto the M80 towards Cumbernauld, only me and one car behind me, I looked ahead

and was very surprised to see a group of hi-viz jackets in the distance, lucky I was going slow about 33mph

let foot off the gas to bring it down to 30mph. indeed I was correct, in the dark was 5 police officers one with a speed gun aimed on me.

very sneaky... :-(
There were 2 standing with a speed gun yesterday morning on my way to work, just off of shieldhall road at 0745, pitch black, heavy rain, The road is a very wide, long straight, you turn off of a 40 limit and into a 30 but I've found myself doing more than 30 before, due to the "drive to work autopilot" and the kind of road it is. Thankfully I was on the ball this time as I'm in my new car and the potholes on the road make it scary to do anymore than 30.

Should also add, they didn't seem to be traffic police, they were dressed up like you see them on pedal bikes (although this could just be because they were wearing waterproofs). Also couldn't see a car parked up anywhere near, in any of the side roads etc.

Black Jaguar XF SF(or SK)60 AEC had tugged someone on the M9 North near the Stirling cut off this morning.

Don't need to be mate - the community police do their fair share of speed gun work.

It's SN, not SF. There's two on very similar plates knocking around Central (one grey, one black) - very difficult to spot from behind!

A favourite haunt this one. They park up to the left of the next roundabout in the access road to the housing estate. The car is totally invisible coming from the Asda side

SN60 AEC - dark grey / black Jaguar XF on small (ish) wheels.

It was parked on the hard should of the M876 heading towards the Kincardine Bridge, just at the big dip as you pass the Falkirk wheel on Sunday afternoon.

Worryingly, the missus clocked it before I did...

That's a well know local one dual C'way 30mph they sit both sides but Asda side is worst due to slight bend you don't see them until it is too late Never struck me as a "dangerous hot bed of speeding! though

Then when you go onto M80 watch speed until 70mph starts as the sit up on raised ramp regularly

As I have just recently moved to Bishopbriggs I appreciated the heads up.

In the last week I have seen the police with a speed gun on the stretch parallel to Asda Robroyston three times

If I hadn't read this thread a few weeks back I may well have ended up with points and a fine.

It used to be a spot where hardly anybody went towards the motorway at less than 40 and nothing was done about it for years.

Then the pedestrian crossing was installed. The positioning meant that there was a good chance that somebody coming off the roundabout with their minds already thinking 'motorway' and pushing a bit would be potentially overtaking traffic around that point at between 40 and 50. People don't really understand or respect zig-zag markings at crossings.

A year or more of hi-vis couples pointing laser gun has had an impact. Speeds on that spur have dropped. When they started appearing you'd spot the pulled in offender parked up at the end of the spur rather than the BiB in their hi-vis jackets. It's very rare to see anybody pulled over now.

But the kicker is I can't recall ever seeing the pedestrian crossing actually being used.

The BiB were out with the hair dryer at this very same spot at 4pm today. They had their transit connect van parked up in the retail park and were standing just after the bend.

I've never seen a pedestrian anywhere near the road, and understand why people push on approaching the roundabout.

Easy money for Police Scotland.

The giveaway for me of unmarked cop cars wasnt the 2 aerials or the SF on the reg, it was the font of the reg plate, the "S" in their plates was always "flatter and more squared" than any other I've seen, almost like a reversed "Z" which is clearly down to them using a different plate supplier than the usual Hills/Jepson/Bestplate suppliers that car dealers/garages/motor factors normally used, coupled with the blank plates without Arnold Clark/Parks etc names on them.
Any pics?

The font of the reg is tightly controlled, and I would have thought that anything different enough to be spotted, would be different enough to be away from the regs.
