I noticed it in my rear mirrors and something didn't look 'right', seemed to be a light around/just below its rear-view mirror. A car joining on the slip road diverted my attention when it was getting closer and it burst past me quickly, possibly to clear slip-road and allow me to pull to lane 2 if required, it wasn't.
Due to the joining car I never had a chance to see the occupant(s) or look into the car, but noticed as it as past me that it had an extra light in the rear window. It looked like a high level brake light but this was at the bottom of the tailgate window and it had a high level one at the top. Also had a dog/luggage guard in the boot.
But, it was a private reg, V70 SCO.
It stayed in Lane 2 with lane 1 empty travelling in excess of the NSL, but not by by very much. I stayed at 70 as did everyone behind me, who the Volvo had previously overtaken, who earlier were travelling faster. At Broxden it stayed in lane 2 and took the M90, and eventually turned off at Bridge of Earn. It slowed down a bit before the junction but not enough to enable me to get alongside to have a look.
Just something about it didn't seem normal so was wondering if anyone else has seen it or knows if it is a cop car?

Operating on the A96 around Huntly and Glens of Foudland creeper lanes. All black with blacked out windows.
Quite a different machine for the 5-0 and one to watch out for. Should be easyish to spot as the majority of these are blue A180 diesels

There's been a black 3 series estate beginning SM16 doing the rounds recently as well, I've noticed - quite hard to spot.Thought this might belong in here, fake unmarked police car stopping traffic in Lanarkshire
