Seems a long time to wait for a new run till next year
Problem from now on is the weather and lack of light. Only good point is the toursit traffic may lessen
Andrew is off watching Scotland scoring own goals in Japan but will discuss with him when he gets back and see if we can plan something
The classic show is on at NEC in november but to be honest I hate the M6 so much as i drive it so often that I would go by trian.
Possible day out? Mind you it's possibly only me who likes classics! Well to me they are cntemporary cars as I am so old! sob!
Another plan is to go for a shortish drive somewhere, that has a nice big car park and adequate food and coffee facilities? I know the holiday village outside aviemore is ok but it is long drive and the a9 has more police cars and camera vans than lorries!
anyone any ideas?
Happy to organise it as am concious of doing so little for so long!
Am going to organise a mega Itlian car and Bike EVENT not meet next year so watch out! This years 'meet' was nice but this time we are doing the full thing!

Big thanks to those who organised the run today. Was my first Pistonhead run the in skyline and loved it.
At not one point was the drive not fun and with a few goings on chuck in at sections was really good.
flipflop1: hope you get your wheels sorted and thanks for spinning round and putting us back on track.
I need a 911 in my life they sounded wicked between being behind you and also the black on the road between kilmahog and stirling the exhaust note is just amazing.

sorry si for missing the right turn just before callander and missing the last bit out and going straight to stirling.
You missed the best stretch of road out the trip.was great on the backroads today but getting caught behind stuff is always a frustration. personally when it comes to track time my vote would be biased towards knockhill. the combination of poor tyre shredding surface, and bumpiness puts me off. would much rather pay more and have a more undulating and challenging circuit (which also has a half decent cafe!).
just my two cents.

Top day though, some very nice roads and a great turn out. Favourite blast was down from the rest and be thankful with Sherman, what a road that is.
Good to see everyone out in the sunshine
Must say that yesterday was the most fun I have had in a while in the car and as Ollie says above the road from the rest and be thankful was the best part of the day. Good to see everyone out in the sunshine
The scariest part of the day was going over the dukes pass and going round a corner to be face to face with a big tractor and trailer with lots of hay bales on it .

my only criticism of the day is why the guys in the Z3M's were driving so slowly out of Inverary?
That could have been me slowing the pace in my lardy fwd hatch back! Hi Guys,
This was my first run out with the Pistonheads Forum members and it was a great day - a big thanks to the guys who organised this and also to everyone else who turned up with such a great selection of cars.
I had the 4 young lads with me in the car, my 19yr old & 16yr old sons with two of their pals. For the on road drive I only let my own 19yr old drive it and he did ok with this being his first open road run in it and got a few nice overtakes in - he is not a natural driver and has to work hard at it but can be very good at times when he is fully focused and he learned a lot from the day.
As a result of what we do, my youngest has been driving since he was 9yrs old and at 12yrs old was capable of reaching triple figures in our Golf GT TDi on private ground and beating experienced drivers over a timed, coned, manoeuvrability course. You would imagine he is daft on cars and can't wait until he can start driving on road early next year. That said he wasn't sure about going for a run with his dad and brother in the car all day - he loved it and was amazed at the variety of cars and driving. reckons it was best day out he has had in a while . . . . . . . and that is before I took them to private ground to let all four of them drive the VXR8 and push it a little with the ESP on and OFF !
This was off road on private ground which was dry - Got them all up to reasonable speeds to experience the power of the car with various nought to whatever mphs as well, then from about 20mph at a nice hairpin bend allowed them to push the car several times with ESP on to feel how the car was still going to kick out slightly before correcting itself and then the fun continued by switching off the ESP and doing the same . . . . . . it let them see just how the car can surprise them and then learn how to bring it back in under control again.
My personal highlight was the first time my 16yr old drove it without the ESP to the surprise of his older pal in back seat who while giving some verbal input, let out a 'girly shriek' after being as 'cool as' beforehand. Then it had to be the first 180 degree turn my 16 yr old did by total accident when he let it go a bit far . . . . . he then realised what he had done and said can I try that again but to do a 180 turn. I let him and he mastered it really well with excellent control for his 1st proper attempt (missed it on video but got another one where he drives on after completing it).
The young lads in the car took away a good bit from the day and the offroad bit at the end was a reality check for them (with one pal really surprised as can be heard in his comment on vid)and they realise how easy the car control can get away from them a bit and just how much of the road the car can take over even at low speeds.
We did get that bit of fun on the phone video camera and it can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEcB7q2Epsc

I thought he was part of the group with the pace he was taking!
Kept near him at parts though but he was shifting well for most of it!
Your audi looks very menicing in the rear view mirror!
Cheers for the link for the hose clips, i'll get them ordered up as im not risking splitting the silicone hoses, especially with the price they were.
