I think that Campbell M. used to have "JAG 1" on one of his many interesting Jaguars.....which is nice.

I remember seeing John G. in a Lancia Delta S4 in Martini colours reg - "DRY 1"

Also I recall that 1 UPU and UPU 2 used to live around the Loch Lomond area

My 348TS (which I think may once have been sold through The Ferrari Centre) came with "348 TFC" - but that's not in the same league!
I can remeber 1 UPU.

I'm sure it was on a late 60's silver Zodiac in the Bearsden/Milngavie area.

But hey, this was 40 years ago !!!
UPU 2 was on a mini cooper s in glasgow in the 70's it blew the doors off my cooper in renfield street then.

"ALAN!" shout

wink

I think his plate is great, obviously someone at the DVLA misses the meaning of quite a few plates when people buy them. Or, more unlikely, they have a sense of humour...

It's not on a vehicle, so must be on 'retention' or has reverted to the DVLA never to be re-issued.

That's odd,It sold in 2003 at a DVLA Auction for £3600 + vat & charges,It's a shame it's not been used.! it must be worth alot more now.?

Like I say, could be on retention.

I'm not so sure plate prices are rising for anything except the real high level stuff!

Even 2x2's are not rising year on year in anything except the dealers adverts. Just as an example, I bought a 2x2 plate last year with the two numbers being the same as each other and the letters 'JS', which are not the most uncommon initials in the UK! The guy couldn't sell through the dealers or ebay and sold to me for about £2.5k less than he'd paid for it from DVLA auctions over ten yeas ago!
