I just bought a nice one for an upcoming Superlight Caterham. I'll post a pic when it arrives.

FYI there are some fairly good ones to be had at the moment for the '10' plate

I almost bought B A IOONY (Still available as I type)

also available (but more expensive - £799) HE IOVES

My other half (Iona) wasn't too keen on UP IONAS though hehe

I used to work for AC when I was younger - stacking the shelves in Bilston garage biggrin

In those days, before they had a franchise, they had some nice motors in the showroom - checy blazer, customised morris marina, Lotus Cortina Mk1, RS200 Mk2 and AC used to bring his 3 litre capri in to get work done on it before racing at Ingliston.

Last time I saw AC1 it was on a big silver merc IIRC.

When the F plates went on sale 2 years ago, I almost went for F17BAW (means more to a Scot) but in the end I just got my initials and a single number as it'll stay with me forever now.

Seen the 50BER and PU51BAR ones before, also 2001AD years ago in Edinburgh.

Saw a mercedes minivan today with " FII TBA " on its way to the fitba smile. Also an " XXX BO55" or maybe a different way of spelling boss. Either a B or 8. On an A5, looked smart.

Yep, silver 7 series.
Errr...say it out loud?

Why the hell would you want a plate that reads "paedo"?!

W33 LDY - spotted yesterday northbound on the M9 towards Stirling. It did indeed have a wee lady driving it (desperately in need of a booster seat IMO), but for the life of mke I can't remember what sort of car it was...

I bought F11DEN hoping to have it look like AIDEN with the F and the 1 closer than they maybe should have been, font perfectly correct, but honestly you would think the local constabulary thought I had commited murder, stopped 4 times in 2 weeks, eventually gave up and got correct ones on, glad to see they were busy. Also have C4RA 0 for my daughter CARA D, bought that 11 years ago. TT I bought had T70LMB on it and I tried to give it away when I was selling it but no takers, pity.

It would seem that either a vivid imagination or dyslexia or possibly both are essential to decipher some of these numbers.

Aiday, you can't complain if the police stop you for having an illegal plate surely?
If they let you away with it, and everyone else, then we would have 20 million illegal plates on the road!!!

You should maybe ask yourself why you are playing into their hands so easily, its like someone stealing their hubcaps whilst the cops are sitting in the car. You have committed an offence, you have then made no secret of hiding it, you have given them one of the easy "convictions" on a plate and then you question why they had time to spend it on you!

I personally hate private plates that are misspaced, wrong font, people who think that a 3 is an E etc but thats just a personal point, my missus has a private plate, all spacing etc fully legal.

Remember one of the issues with mis spaced plates is the use of ANPR - I am fully supportive of any system that will remove untaxed, uninsured cars off the road so fully support the clampdown on illegal plates.
