I remember it was on a 928, at about 1988ish - Dropped his daughter off for our school bus at Broom Church, Newton Mearns every morning.

I was sure I'd seen the plate for sale though a few years later - a wild price as I recall.

Have to say, there are some utterly shyte numbers being peddled on here as 'best plates'! C'mon, Scotland has more pers regs per capita than anywhere in the UK, so there must be some good 'uns out there... I do like the CRA 1 G plate though!!

The best plates depends on their back story, it makes them more interesting.

For example: in my opinion the best plates in the uk are on a dog grooming company in aberdeen that has K9 DOG

or the brave husband who gave his wife W1 NGE

Supposedly the V plates were the first plates ever for Lanarkshire, the Wisemans have a few also.

Thought Glasgow were "G 0" and not "V O"?

As an aside, many of the Councils seem to use Phaetons although with the recent cutbacks I believe Glasgow sent a few back - sometimes they look a cracking buy second hand!
