Having finished the route I now have the lunch shortlist for the March Run, spoilt for choice this time. I will try and get a similar menu to the Kilfinan hotel on the last run but the venues look suitable and the route works well - will do a proving run when it gets above 5 degrees.

The march run is all ready now - lunch sorted plenty of parking - route checked in full. Will post a thread in a week or so.

How are people feeling about Arranring in April?
Dougie are you up for organising?

What date suits folks - schools seem to be off for just about the whole month!! so not sure when or if tourists will hit Arran.

Sorry for delay, mega busy, but I'll try and organise the Arran trip. Need to look at
logistics of getting everyone over on ferry and the lunch stop.

I've put a date up for the June run, the 19th. I know it is a while away, but that way people can plan. No F1 races on either.

What about a Western isles tour, you can get island hopper ferry passes valid for a few days enabling you to travel unlimited on Calmac ferries.
Start at Barra and work up to Lewis or vice versa.
Mega scenery they reckon on some of the roads
Craig - cheers could be a runner!
Could you do a rough proposal scoping ferry cost mileage and timing - ie which ferries and how many overnights and if so where and we can gauge the level of interest.
Aye no worries,
I will have a proper look at it in the new year.

What sort of dates and for how long a trip? A night camping and one in a B & B or all tenting etc etc?

Depends on the midges forecast!!
Had a look at the ferry cost, £232 per car and valid for 8 days, I reckon the trip could be done for around £500 if we were to look at around 5 days away, would folks want camping, B&B or hotels, I am more than happy to camp for it, always a laugh when the drink starts flowing

Happy to give it a crack Barry, may need some guidance on what works best, let me start a wee ask :

For July would folks like :

- Coast-to-Coast Borders run (West to east or vice-versa)
- Central-to-Heeland blast (think Glencoe / Rannoch)
- Cross Border Raid to Engerland (Multiple options- Broughton to Moffat and on down)
- More adventurous stretch to Scotlands own Stelvio ala Bealach na Ba (nuff said - warm up for Gumbaw)

If I get a wee consensus of what works for folks will do a scout run one or two of the options

Best bet is simply to pick one yourself mate, otherwise you end up trying to please too many different people.

As we have enough runs, we get a big variable anyways so i'd say pick what you know and like, plan the tits off it and then let folk know.

All IMHO.

Personally I'd be up for a Glencoe Run as Borders should be covered by Si (Monaro5.7) or as far north as Applecross if we make it a Saturday/Sunday with a wee overnight camping/town with beer.

Maybe Steve and Craig could have a chat and maybe do a weekend Central/Glencoe/Applecross/Central.... Saturday/Sunday Run 23/24 or 30/31 July??

Could be fun!

Heeland it is. Will drop Craig a PM as the overnighter sounds best idea if we've to get to applecross and back

Tentative date for folks will be 23rd / 24th or 30th / 31st of July with either Camping or B&B. Mark the dates with more to follow !
