hi guys, any reccomendations for camping round cader idris/Betws y coed/bala

we live in aberystwyth but looking to get away for a few weekends with the kids.

not looking for massive sites, prefer quiet ones where the kids can run free and not be stuck in amusments and games/tablets etc
also, if anyone has any camping equipment for sale smile

Hello,

Not sure if your search area covers the middle of Snowdonia but the campsite at Llyn Gwynant looks very good. Not stayed there yet, but comes recommended by friends. A man comes to cook pizza on a Friday and Saturdays.

In terms of camping equipment, I can also recommend the Cobb portable bbq. Not cheap but they are very versatile and excellent at what they do.

Have fun. Hope the weather stays fine.

Regards, Neil

You could try Glan Llyn Campsite at the far end of Bala Lake. Its got a good beach on the lake and a river where kids can play in inflatables etc. There is a small shop and a play area with swings and things. The site has a good set of showers and toilets, with clothes washing and drying facilities. We've been going for years and both our girls spent most of their growing up playing in the water, canoeing and sailing.I still have a caravan on a seasonal pitch there which I use most weekends. There's a few restaurants in Bala as well together with hardware, clothes and food shops (Co-op,Spar, local butchers etc.), post office,4 pubs, so you should be able to find something to suit your needs
Have a look at their website and picture gallery on: www.glanllyn.com

There is a small campsite behind the station in Betws y Coed, quite secluded and quiet.
