Hello,

I was wondering if any of you is commuting daily by car from the area of Prestatyn North Wales to Manchester city. I need to be in the city for 08.30am to work. What time would be best to leave from prestatyn to be on time ? Also, is it a tiring commute ?
In the afternoon I would leave Manchester at 5.30pm. What time can I expect to be back home ? Is the M56 the best way to drive ?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Your journey is approx 70 miles which can be done in 80 minutes however your travelling at peak times,a lot will depend on exact Manchester location, the last few miles when you come off the motorway can be hellish.Play it safe on your first commute and allow plenty of time.A55 and M56.Good luck glad I,m retired.Regards Baz

I get the train to Manchester (I work on Oxford Road), have you not considered this? I get the Llandudno train, could you not pick this up at a local'ish station?

set off at 6!

as a previous post has said the ;ast section of the m56 from junction 7 is a bd, even on a motorbike.

and all you need is a minor problem to block the whole thing up.

leaving at 5:30 is also the worst time to leave (what a surprise), so dont expect any change out of 90 minutes

At the risk of upsetting the PH masses - take the train!!
The 06:31 from Prestatyn is direct to Oxford Road and gets in at 08:09. There is then a 17:53 service that is back in Prestatyn for 19:23.
Daily return is £25 but I assume you could get that down a bit with a season ticket.
There is no way in the world I would want to do that journey as a daily drive - M56 is awful!!
