What is BBWF?

BBWF is the Big Bad Wedge Fest - primarily aimed at Tasmins as a single-model rally - but all TVR's and indeed other exotic cars have attended and are welcome. BBWF is in it's 8th year. And - best of all - it's FREE!

This year the TVRCC are listing the event in its calendar, too.

Where is BBWF 2011?

It's back at Ettington Chase Hotel this year. For the non petrolheads there is an indoor swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool and air conditioned gym, if you're staying at the hotel. Please do mention BBWF when booking and you'll get a great room rate! ROOM AVAILABILITY: there are still a few rooms left if you hurry, according to the Hayley Event Office - so there should be no problems booking by phone IF YOU QUOTE BBWF. If you have problems with the reservation line then call 017897400000 and dial 2 for the events office and the lady will sort you out onto BBWF - but do mention BBWF!!

When exactly?

Some of us will be there on the 15th July in the evening, the main day is Saturday 16th July, and a lot of us have a drive out on Sunday and go for lunch. But don't be afraid to turn up "on spec" on the day - the more the merrier!

Who's running it?

This year we are organising it through a committee, the committee members being:

  • Andy "Tank" Hutcheson (chairman and main organiser)
  • Adam "Method" Quantrill
  • Mark "Zigaziga" Webb
This year BBWF is sponsored by TVR Car Parts

What's happening?

The hotel has reserved parking space exclusively for TVR's. The day's events start at around 10am although the car park will be open at 0930. During the day on Saturday we have the following activities planned (so far):

  • A charity raffle
  • Concourse competition
  • Rat car award (the second year - don't be ashamed, bring it along! The more filler the better!)
  • Loudest Wedge Competition
  • Rolling road shoot-out (V8 and V6 classes)
  • Furthest travelled to BBWF Competition
  • Afternoon drive out
  • Autojumble
  • Tea and Coffee stall (proceeds to charity - cake donations most welcome!)
  • The usual traders:

  • Bernie's Rolling Road
  • TVR Car parts
  • Leven Technology
  • ACT
  • Chips Away (paint repairs)
  • Auto Valet Direct (valeting service)
  • Furniture Clinic (leather restoration)
  • Peter Filby will be launching his new book, the Lilley Era, which features the Tasmin.

On arrival you'll be directed to the appropriate parking space (wedge or not) and given a pack of information, with entry slips for the various competitions, map of the drive-out routes, etc.

In the evening we are planning:
  • A hog roast
This is £12.95/head and must be paid in advance before 1st July. There are chicken and veggie options, please request when booking, and the price includes a pudding.
  • '80's & Wedge-themed disco
  • and of course the usual nattering at and around the bar.
On Sunday after breakfast and checkout:
  • A drive out in the countryside, leaving at around 11:30
  • Sunday Lunch
  • A visit to The Heritage Motor Centre (postcode CV35 0BJ heritage-motor-centre.co.uk) at a discounted rate of £8/head

Who's coming?

See the stickies for a list of people coming, and please add your own name too so we can keep track of numbers for parking, etc. Don't worry if you only decide to come on the day - you'll be more than welcome! Even if you don't have a wedge!!
