My 350 is in tomorrow to have its oil pressure brought back to life, and rather optimistically i've also booked its MOT for 3pm

She's suppposed to be a wedding car on Saturday and I rather fear its expecting a bit much for it all to come together :fingerscrossedinanticipation:

Fan-bloody-tastic!

Not only did the garage man coax it back to life today... but it then went and passed straight through the MOT!

I'm well chuffed and might just celebrate tonight

Congratulations John, it's a great feeling when that happens!

Good luck on Saturday with the chauffeuring (sp?)

That's great news John. So what was causing the oil pressure problem then?

Humm! Reminds me somewhat of an old friend who insisted on leaving the church with his new bride in his Ferrari Dino. It took the best part of half an hour to shoehorn the bride's dress into the Dino (I still don't know whether the bride was still in it when we'd finished!) ... and then the groom could barely see through the organza (or whatever) and couldn't change gear!

Good luck, though. I'll stick to the 1929 RR Phantom 1 Tourer I've booked for Saturday week

I don't want to sound a sour not at your success but when my insurance was renewed (AON) I noticed that there was a restriction on wedding use - check your policy carefully; even if you are not being paid.

Not immediately obvious, the pressure relief valve spring and plunger was changed, as well as the main oil pump drive. There was evidence of quite a lot of wear (the car has 75k on the clock). All put back tgether, primed and sprang into life!

Thanks Russ, i've never heard of that before. I've actually put the groom on the insurance for him to drive himself and his best man there. Trusting or what!

I get to drive it back though

Ha ha, the garage that gave my wedge its MOT failed the wife's Zafira today

Nothing major but great for points scoring
