nearly there all the injector plugs and wiring connectors replaced as most of them were damaged or rotten just waiting for some more connecters to finish off the wiring in the engine bay then fill with fluids still a couple of jobs inside the car to sort out before starting up for the first time in 14 years

Hi Dave

Even though we want as many 350i at the Birthday Bash at the fest, get the 400SE on the road for the fest!

another good night in the garage I never liked the position of the ecu and as the flap and the fuse box backer are missing ive made a new panel up out of two mil alloy and this is going to be fitted in the dead space in the left hand side of the passenger footwell then I can make up a new panel for the fuse box

That's exactly what I did with mine, then I made a box/ panel to fit over it and covered it in carpet, you'd never know it was there, its where it should have been from the start instead of shoe horning too much in the drop down flap under the clove box resulting in a bent flap that won't latch and stay up.
Everyone do this mod!!!

A bit of a random and unrelated question. I noticed in one of your pictures of the interior, your tacho is stuck at around 20, presumably, the power is disconnected, judging by the number of wires hanging out. I have this same problem when I turn the ignition off, yet when the car is running it works fine, from 0 upwards. Am I to assume then that the tacho has an internal fault and the weight of gravity causes the needle to drop to around 20 each time the power goes off. Only I was thinking along the lines of a bad earth, but everything else seems to work fine. Now, seeing the photo of your tacho without power, has made me think.
