Does any know what seats were originally fitted to a FHC 280i, and if they're original TVR items, are there any recommendations for a suitable replacement from another car.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mate..I think the originals were made for TVR and not sourced from another vehicle..People have fitted various types from classic retro sport seats to cobra racing chairs..I have nissan nsx seats in mine which have had rails fitted to the bottom so that they fit on to the existing rails of the original seats..They are a tad tight and i had to take off the lumber support handle as it was rubbing on the centre console..RX8 and MX5 i believe are a little bit slimmer and hug you more at the sides..Heres one example of RX8..

I'm running 94 mx5 seats with 280i rails in mine. They fit nearly perfectly only had to round out my rh side seat holes in the floor a bit to make it fit. On the downside is they are about an inch or so higher then the stock tvr seat and that is with the bottom touching the carpet.

xjs might not be a bad idea, i was told that the jag colours are identical to tvr ones. your only problem is most are electric but you've only got to supply power to the seat controls.

You could also drop Chimp & Griff seats in. That's eventually what I did after looking at a couple of unsuitable alternatives...

I dropped griffith seaths into mine and they look great. I have the orginal recaros in my shed if you need a tatty alternative ( they are ripped here and there , and one has the railing welded to it , don't ask ), yours for a bottle of wine.

Too wide. I bought a set of them, but they're at least a couple of inches too wide. They're sitting in my garage. Wondering what to do with them.

Me Too! Found a really nice set of blue leather XJS seats which matched my interior well.
The Jag seats were quite a bit wider though, and the seat rails were MUCH wider.

Put the seats on e-bay. I actually ended up MAKING a little bit of money over what I bought them from the breakers for.

I lucked out and found a pair of tatty but restorable blue leather seats from another 350i!
