Ralph,

No lambda sensor to worry about mate.
They were only on the "Hot wire" air flow meters, yours has a "flapper" air flow meter.

The hotwires used a different ecu too, a lucas 14cux jobby where yours has a lucas 4cu control unit.

Sorry to hear it is still not running too mate, I know how you feel, tvr's can be a f**king nightmare. Felt like selling mine a few days ago and completely giving up on tvr's. I now need a major brake overhaul !!!

Hope you get it running soon mate

Cheers
Ian

Evening Guys
Well the complete injection and loom have been removed ready for the engine to now be fully cleaned, pianted and the new parts fitted and in some ways it been a blessing as i found both engine mounts not done up at all and a number of fixing bolts for the efi injectors lose, so this was a fire waiting to happen, i still have one small issue with one of the water pump bolts which will not come undo as want to paint the holding bracket for the PAS pump, still to be expected, so here's a couple of photo's of before and after and a quick question, as the fuel pump relay is on the engine loom how do it get around it please?? many thanks, ralph

Nicely done up bolt, NOT

Before and after lol

And poor old me still has to deal with this mess

That may well have been a significant source of air leaks into the inlet manifold and a long term unidentified cause of the Efi issues. We'll never know, tho'.

Hi Honest-johntoo
i did try again before i removed the Efi and found if you hit the Ecu the car would run a bit better but still not great and i would have had to got this far to have found the issues anyway, still i think for me its probably the best option, many thank for you help

Well - that not quite the case - but its sorta academic.

One of the traditional methods of locating rogue air leaks is to spray PlusGas or WD40 around all the inlet manifold joints and seals and pipes, and etc, listening for a change in RPM or observing smoke in the exhaust which is due to the combustible spray finding a hole somewhere inaccessible.

But not totally academic, 'cos carburettor cars will also suffer the same problem to a lesser degree, perhaps. Fun to come - maybe? wink
