In the early stages of my metering head issues it was suggested to me to convert to carbs but after reading that some of the capris that did this suffered a loss of power when they did away with the Constant fuelling of the K-jetronic and replaced it with carbs so i decided not to, Wouldnt this also be the case with the 350?..

Hi Ziga
I know nothing about k-jetronic mate, but if its anything like the lucas system then good luck mate and i,ll happily lose 20bhp as would much rather have a car that dont have old electric's that imo are a nightmare to find parts or fix, am sure alot will disagree, but for me its a no brainer.
In regards to performance mate, am pretty sure a carb set up with a cam can easy produce 220bhp so if anything it would be a better upgrade, but as you may have seen my main concern is not about the carb set up mate it more about the way the car has been put back together.

Ian ( mason) if i was you mate, i would go a pay your so called mechinic a visit as imo if that car had run correctly i would hate to think of the danger he would have put you in, sorry but PLEASE DO NOT USE HIM FOR YOUR SAFETY.

Regards

Ralph

Evening Guys
Well the carb and manifold have arrived and after a quick look it appears i need more parts, both water feeds are different and there's a number of screw in parts which i need to sort out and the cheap b*****ds dont even give you the screws to hold the carb down, mad, still i,ll try and order the parts in the morning and see if i cant get an overnight delivery so i can crack on with the install.
Have also been cleaning up the bottom of the engine and steering rack as it was covered in grease, which after a good blast with a hot water pressure cleaner it come up really well along with the chassis, so am very pleased as just need to start pianting.
So Here's a few picture's not great but you get the idea.

At last you can see the pipes lol

and have cleaned this area which just needs a little further cleaning to make good

Thanks for looking

Ralph

Ralph - what are you doing about the fuel pump - the EFI one being far too strong. Another part you can sell, though ;^)

Hi Adam
i have decided not to sell any of the parts as if at some piont i do sell the car i can then come with its orginal Efi system which i think would be a nice touch in years to come and the fuel pump has been sorted thanks to GV

Cheers

Good Evening guys
Well started the install this morning and firstly started re-taping up all the wiring which took ages, then onto re-fitting the PAS pump etc and then pianted a few brackets, pullies etc which i,ll finish off tomorrow. then onto the install of carb and manifold which went very well, also installed all the water pump housings and just need to start attaching all the pipework, ie fuel lines and vacuum hose's etc unfortunately i have to go to my office in the morning as my blackberry will not forward the pictures that GV kindly sent me to my computer which i need to complete the install, still pretty close now.

Here's a few picture.
