Can't keep up with ya Ralph, gonna recover my doors and and centre, but got a gearbox to sort first!

lol, roof removal is pretty easy mate, the way I would do it if you want the keep the roof, is to undo the front section ie seat belt mounting bolts, when pull the lot over the boot and your see 3 screws located on the rear wrap around panel located above the parcel shelf, then open the boot, pull down the carpet and you will see the bolts, undo and job done mate, hope this helps, Cheers, Ralph

That's great mate, that's what I could see, but just wondered if there was any hidde fittings.
The roof is being binned actually, it's being removed for respray and then new roof fit.

The beast is alive
And it looks like the cause was a stripped live battery bolt which the live feeds for the relay board are bolted to.
Still it nearly all back together and today got some new sticker though the post, so will be doing the finishing touches tomorrow and hope take the beast for a spin.
finished dash at last
sticker:cool
cheers Guys

Well after drinking to much last night I managed to finally get out this afternoon and finish the interior, so that's all sorted, also run up the engine with the new jets in the carb and its still running a bit rough, so will check a few things tomorrow and hopefully get it back on the road at long last, cheers

Afternoon Guys
Well had my mechinc over this morning to set the timing and the issue was with the dizzy amp hitting the PAS bracket and not giving enough advance, so hacksaw out and bracket adjusted, TDC set with a plug stop, then 14degs static dailed in with upto 36 degs at 2.5k-3k and engine running alot sweeter.
We also noticed that the carb was dripping fuel into the barrels rather then spraying, so fitted a new fuel regulator and set to 5 psi, adjusted both idle mixtures screw and got the carb to fine spray with idle set at 1100rpm without the air cleaner off, which once fitted brings it down to 950rpm, so hopefully i now have a good base setting, but the proof will be in the driving which unfortunately after completing was a little to busy with other things to test today, but hopefully tomorrow i should have time, fingers crossed, cheers, Ralph

Nice one Ralph - nice tip about the fuel regulator which one did you go for?
Hi AndyHope your well mate, i think its a eldebrock regultor, well thats what they stated, bloody cheap at £21.00 all in and appears to work a treat, i can pm you the details if wish, its nothing fancy mate, but does the job, i just need to move the fuel filter out off the engine bay and back to the fuel pump as no room any more, cheers
Adam
Lol dont really fancy driving with wet seats as mine are matterial
Evening Guys
Well back to the drawing board as engine is still hunting on part throttle and take off, now am unsure what can cause this, but I have a feeling its either over fuelling or under fuelling, which I think could be the latter as would make sense, one things for sure, it has to be the bloody carb and if it kills me I WILL get to the bottom off this, sorry guys I wish I had better news, I must sound like a right nutter.
Cheers

Well my brain is hurting and this is not a good place for a 48 year old to be, as feel like i am back at school and boy was i s***t at that
Still there must be a little brain left as am sure i have found the issue, the cruise setting on the carb rods is way to lean causing the engine to hunt on part throttle, so ( famous last words) all i need to do is change the rods to increase the fuel delivery for the cruise setting, so at present the cruise is set at
16% leaner than stock using 83 prim jets 65-47 rods
So to resolve am going to try
83 prim 63-47 rods which will be 7.9% leaner or
83 prim 62-52 rods which are 3.9% leaner or
86 prim 68-52 rods which are 12% leaner
as there cheap am going to buy the lots and at lease i should have a full range of rods to hopefully sort this out, so i can get the car on to a RR and get it sorted correctly, fingers crossed
Cheers

Keep it up Ralph. My car has a lumpy tick over which I put down to a bit of fine tuning. I did change jets but not the rods so it will be interesting to see what you get. I'm also not running my Vac Advance as I could feel the difference with it on. At the moment I'm deep into my rear light mod so I won't be on the road for another while just yet. I hope you finally crack it mate as you have done much to deserve a good run out....
Morning AndyInteresting about the vac advance as i have read that this carb can produce way to much and cause issues mate, have you just plugged both carb and dizzy end mate? and looking forward to seeing your car at long last mate and good luck with the lights
Cheers

Hi Ralph - I blocked off the vacuum port on the carb but not the dizzy (Mallory Unilite). I'm also going to up the idle speed slightly too. I don't think blocking off the dizzy will make a difference once the carb is blocked off but I could be wrong.
Hi AndyI,ll give that a try mate, what happened when you did have it connected? as the vac advance does effect the cruise setting on the carb
Evening Gents
Well finally its sorted as the rods done the trick, thank god, so another 350 is back on the road
Just goes to show, never give up on a good thing
All the best and thanks for every ones help along the way and a big thank you to Mr zig, sorry mate hope i haven't bent your ears to much
