I am looking for the source car/cars of the late column as the horn press contact module is broken, Ford say part this obsolete and I can get little help apart from we need more details and a model ... I understand this is a non airbag car, but what car.

Do you have the triangular lower column going thru the bulkhead? if so it it is likely to be late capri or Orion (remember those?)

Here is a picture, NON airbag car (as I can find airbag versions), the contact switch drops into the holder at 5 o'clock.

Does it not have a horn press switch in the middle of the steering wheel?

Is the broken bit some sort of track to allow contact while the wheel turns?

I cannot see an Orion with this column...(I will keep looking). Here is a picture of the broken switch, the slip ring was placed in the rear of the steering wheel with no method of location had rotated and the contact wires sheared and dragged the broken contact out.

Can you pull the other bit out? If so I'd be inclined to have a crack at soldering them together.

Been there and done that ...and all it did was draw the solder up the flexible wiring and hence it is now scrap.
I can IF I can source even another version of a similar switch swap the contacts.

Yes, this would be the same. Behind the steering wheel is a dual slip ring and one of these contact sets.
