Morning all,

Looks like the trophy is the way we are wanting to go.

I think it is a great idea. Who is going to look after getting one?

Hi
If you want a trophy and sutably engraved by BBWF you need to sort out a few things and soon.
1. Sorry to mention it but how much are we looking at as we don't have any funds at present, other than the money from the BBWF funds.
2. As the original idea was for it to be presented at the fest, I suggest the fest orgnisers be responsable for the managment, keeps it simple!
3. What is the trophy being called, as we have had a number of ideas from the original simple one and it has no been hijacked to a more elabarate one?
4. A descsion on what its being presented for! plus how who makes that decsion?

Well that should keep you posting for a while!

Sorry if this post doesn't make sense but I am doing it left handed as I have drips in my right hand from my opp!

Hi

I agree with what Darren has said, its better to keep thinks simple! Thank you and Trickie for having faith in me "to do the right thing"

Yes I would be honoured to do this!

The important thing is to make certain that his Family are happy that we are doing this. Fortunately Adam thinks the same and has already asked the question and we will hopefully know soon!

What I need from you peps is the answers to some of my questions.

1. What do we call it?
a. The "wee man" Trophy.
b. The Simon "wee man" Longman Trophy.
c. Any other suggestion.

2. I will get a large's Trophy engraved with the the agreed above! With room to have the future winner's name's and year's to be engraved on it in some place.

3. What is this Trophy going to be awarded for.
The "Wedge" personality of the year?
If so I have ideas how this can be done, I will post this up at a later date!

Andy

Perfect, The wee man trophy for the wedge owner who has made the BIGGEST impact over the year.

Nominations on line in the weeks before BBWF, a secret vote by email, and awarded on the day.

I would like to nominate for the award this year ..... Simon Longworth.

Any other nominations ?

Hi

I agree the "Wee man" trophy has ring to it!

With regard to what it's awarded for can be for so many things! Were the award of "Wedge" personality of the year can allow for many thing! For example, during a year you may have a comedian keeping us smiling, or we could have, a member really help out with great correct tech knowledge, etc I can go. Were if we keep down to calling it a personality it allows flexabilty to cover ether thing! Simple!

I mentioned earlier how do we decide, who is the personality, try this idea.
Around the begin of March time we ask for normanations for the personality and the reason's (For what ever reason) with a closing date early April!
A list is drawn up and then those normanated are put to a vote from members by a private e-mail vote to the BBWF commitee! The winner is the person with the most votes. If there is a draw the the reason for the nomination is then taken into account!
This is a simple way with privicey so no detrmental commets, bad feelings etc can when voting be on open forum! Keeped in private. If sombody has a complaint about a nomanie they can send it by private e-mail and this can be taken into acount if it's a viable complaint if there is a draw! This will help stop some of the back biting etc, but if members are real unhappy with the vote then it's details can be asked for by quorum of members!

So how does this look for the trophy engraving:

The Wee Man Trophy
In Memory of
Simon Longman
(19XX-2012)

Awarded for Wedge
Personality of the Year

With spaces around the bottom or trophy edge for engraving winner's names.

We will of course double-check the spelling of names and date of birth.

Simon would have loved the humour and irony of that post
