Yes reading their policy it even says "(if a mileage allowance is
paid to you for official or agreed business duties in connection with your employment or for a
social service, such use will be covered)" so it covers some limited business use too.

On teh other hand their website says "and this vehicle is not my main mode of transport". I suppose I use shank's pony more than the car.... Car 40 minutes a day, shank's for the other 15 hours... ;^)

I'll give them a ring anyway.

Well this is odd. Classicline were about £390 but that was a renewal for 7500 miles.
So I asked FJ and t'other one and they both came in at around £260 for 3000 miles.
Then phoned Classicline to ask them for 3k and they said £208 - cheaper than ever!
What I usually do it top up another 3k nearing oct/nov time, and it usually costs £35-40 for the top-up.

This means:
a) If the car spends significant time off-road the top-up might not be needed - saving money.
b) The top-up + 3k original is cheaper than the full miles up front.
c) Less money up-front - more like paying by instalments ;^)

So I renewed with Classicline as before....

Hi all,
Have just insured my newly purchased 1987 350i
I got the following Fully Comp prices:
Direct Line - £2,239.00!
Performance Direct (by phone):
Limited to 2000 miles - £107.91
Limited to 3000 miles - £112.53
Just goes to show, shopping around can make a difference, although I suspect that the cover provided by Direct Line, may have included someone to follow me around with the car for each of the miles travelled.
New to this site, but getting to grips with it, slowly but surely.
FYI, I'm 45, no NCB to use on this car and live in Nottingham :-)
