Hi guys i know it's been brought up before but i'm darned if i can find anything.

Who do you guys insure your wedges with?

I'm with Adrian Flux at the moment and my renewal is around £250 for the year after i delete a couple of things they have quoted me for which i do not want. This is for 3k miles a year.

A quick online quote with Footman James came up with £375! ( although it would not recognise the TVRCC on website so had to say 'no' to 'member of a car club')

Can i do better? I live in a rural low crime area with only an SP30 to my name. Oh, and i'm 43 years old.

Cheers

I'm with Norton. Its about £220 for 1500 miles pa in the SEAC. I seem to remember them being the cheapest when I last shopped around some years ago.

Try R H Classic Insurance. Someone told me they are one of the cheapest and I will also try them when my current insurance runs out. Mind you, also depends on where you live and your circumstances.

I'm 44, and my 350i costs £108 with RH for 3K Miles pa.

They do insist that you have another, everday car though.

Lancaster did mine on a classics with 7k miles for a flat £200. its a 280i tho and i had been with them for 4 years with the previous car (old merc). Not that mine is actually on the road now but that was the going rate last year.

I'm just about to renew mine with RH. £112 for 5k miles including breakdown cover, though it has to be garaged when at home after 10pm.

Hi

Insurance companys are fun people.

I have a policy with Footman James for my 5 TVR's plus my Jeep Grand Cherokee for £925
With a limited milage of 3k per car, that means an average cost per car £154 and considering that covers a SEAC and a 4.5 Cerbera that's a great price!

Bear in mind lots of things like Driver Age, Location also are taken into account on car insurance, So

Me Live 4 minutes from you! but I am a bit older smile say 10 years,
The wedge is insured with Heritage renewed a couple of months ago £130,
Fully Comp, Classic Car insurance 5000 miles, Agreed Value photos etc had to be supplied and I got a nice agreed value certificate to put in the history file. You know what my car is and all changes, modifcations and things added all these decleared and included in policy.

Lancaster is £515.57

but their website also flags up other companies for comparison:-

KGM quote £111.16 but all drivers must be over 30

I think that's taking the p**s.

RH cheapest by far for me and they are agreed value policies as well just in case the worst happens.
