First of all a huge thank you to the organisers and of course Andy Tank and Adam aka Mr Moustachio albeit lacking facial hair later in the evening, the organisation of the event takes a huge amount of effort and we really appreciated it, many thanks again from me and Katie Now here's one more picture taking pre rusties as it was not a pretty sight post rusties !!! and for your viewing pleasure (Hopefully) some RR action http://youtu.be/csdiNR3KE6I

You missed the best one! Zig -- 107bhp with a noise level of 119db in the loudest wedge competition, so his exhaust is more powerfull than his engine! All noise and no go!

I was a little concerned having just met Zig that he may have lots of hot air, seems as if his car beats him though 119db of hot air Only kidding really

Just got back in from a family funeral and all i see are people digging me out again!!....I didnt want to post my results as i was ashamed of it...Especially as it made 123bhp when it was running on only 5 cylinders and made 107 on 6???..WTF...Still on a positive side at least mine has bhp waiting to be unleashed..Once i sort the fuelling out..Anyway heres my s t..I mean sheet..And what a load of sheet it was... Top line on the second sheet is my fuel/air ratio..For a start that should have between 13-14 and the odd spike is quite normal but that is taking the biscuit..I have a booking with the ford guy who has just invested in a new fuel pressure testing system that tests at different temperatures and rev ranges so hopefully i will get to the bottom of it..Cheers...Ziga

Cat... Pigeons! Sorry for the poor picture I'm fighting my scanner. Sooo..... there's no replacement for displacement forced induction! Zig, Your graphs are have the titles the wrong way round 'flywheel roadwheel'. It wasn't really revved to 6.4K was it, if so it could be the cause of your power loss, check for bits of big end bolts and conrods in the sump, unless you have some tricky engine parts! Chris.

I thought the 2.8's best output was around the 4500rpm mark, so Zigs graph looks ok....? CYG is always better fuelled on alcohol
CYG is always better fuelled on alcohol
...very true..It was running better with a drop of rusty as a fuel additive... Im having the fuel pressure checked soon..Cold to hot and from pump to injectors..Although i think from metering head onwards, I have a feeling that the WUR is at fault after all it is the pressure regulator and it is the only thing that wasnt replaced with new...it was a second hand unit to get me out of trouble last year..I dont think not having an accumulator would cause the massive fuel spikes...But as said there is at least 15-20 bhp waiting to be reinstated and possibly a little more..The torque was still up there but is it supposed to drop off like that?...Cheers...Ziga

Its a shame I couldnt be there but will try for next year but looking forward to the RNR Well its off to LeMans in the morning for the classic... Keep the pics coming every one.... Cambelt

Why was he using 3rd gear on the R/Road ? I thought they normally used 4th (ie...direct). Are those figures computed flywheel or 'at the wheels' ? If it helps Zig, I went with my friend to a rolling road session for his S series 290, all just totally rebuilt....supposedly they put out about 170bhp. First run his car made 102 at the fly. Mucho disappointment and confusion. Richard the operator there is a genius though and soon found that there was a severe restriction in the air inlet, so fixed that plus a general bit of fiddling and adjusting. Next run....172.5 bhp flywheel ! I think that 70bhp cost a £60 one hour session. Just find yourself someone who knows what they're doing mate.

I did wonder why i was getting really poor MPG..Im waiting for the weather to brighten up a bit so that i can take to the ford guy as he has just invested in a fuel pressure testing system so he can test it at cold..Warm...Hot and hopefully find the cause of the massive spikes of fuel..I have a feeling that it will be the WUR which is also the pressure regulator, Its the one thing i have not changed..I will get the AFR turned down and get the fuel pressure tested and hopefully find the cause of it..The torque is not that far off what it was from new so the bhp should be equally as good..There could be anything from 20-40 bhp to be unleashed which is a considerable amount..Hopefully it will be happy days soon...Cheers..Ziga

Hi Peeps..looking at my print out again and i cant help but think why the f k did they use third gear and push it to over 6000rpm..Isnt there a rev limiter at 6000?..Im having the fuel pressure tested on wednesday and hopefully the culprit will be found..My money is on the WUR..I may just have one built that has a small amount of adjustment..Its the same price and might be better overall..Cheers..Ziga

My 280 had a rev limiter on it ... on the rotor arm.
It should be pre-set to come in 6100-6200.
