I fitted Vectra injectors over two years ago and a few Chimpsters are now starting to follow me.
However, I doubt very much there is much power benefit in a 4.0 litre like mine.
I went with them because it was almost as cheap to buy two sets of used 4 cylinder Vectra injectors and have them refurbished and flow matched, as it was to get my old Lucas disc type refurbished.
They do seem to give a slightly smoother idle which I put down to better atomisation at low inlet air speeds, throttle response off the line was also slightly improved.
Economy remained more or less the same on cruise, but I did gain slightly in this respect at idle & low speeds as my town & overall fuel economy improved.
I never expected earth shattering results on my 4.0 litre, going Vectra injectors was as much about convenience for me.
By having the refurbished Vectra ones to hand & ready to fit there was no TVR down time, I just swapped out my Lucas ones and away I went.
My feeling is they do atomise the fuel better, and I may see a small gain with a few tweaks on the fuel pressure, but not nearly as much (in percentage terms) as on Haircutmike's tuned 4.6.
I'm going for a Canems engine management system in a few weeks and have added an adjustable FPR to at least give me a chance to extract a few more ponies from the 250cc Vectra injectors if it is available.
From my research it seems currently the most powerful 4.0 litre is a Wedge, Ian (Wedg1e) is making a very healthy 256.5hp with Jonny Weggie's 254.6hp following close behind.
Can I beat that in my Chimp, and feature here?

I've set myself a very ambitious 268hp challenge with my standard heads and the following additional improvements:

Alan,
Lots of hold-ups at the restoration shop but I'm near to rolling chassis stage.
Planning to drop the body on but leave engine out for the respray.
Dave,
Thanks for your comments, interesting.
Not going too mad with my 4.2 SEAC but just want to squeeze maximum efficiency out of what I have.
Installing MegaSquirt for mappable fuel & ignition. Have already done away with the dizzy and installed trigger wheel and MSD coil packs.
Alans Wildcat engine'd SEAC will eat me for breakfast in the performance stakes but I'll be cruising by while he's filling up for the umpteenth time
