Hmmmmm Oz may have a Wedge island smile

However it's not all great there eek

At least when we go swimming here, there's a reasonable chance we'll get out of the water in one piece smile

Bloody hell mate...A female red back spider, Closley related to a black widow...The bite can cause serious illness or even DEATH!..They lay up to 250 eggs and are commonly found in urban areas..I would be fumigating my car and garage after seeing that....

I got bitten by one of these shortly after I arrived in Australia,

apparently it was a warning bite. Didn't make me sick but left two big holes in my arm.
It's a huntsman spider we often have them in our house.
Cheers

Poor fellow looks dehydrated..Give him a drink FFS!!!...
Years ago we found a huntsman spider in our greenhouse..Put it in an old fish tank and in the morning all that was left was the skin...Which i have somewhere in an old tobacco tin..A friend of mine used to keep spiders and had a black honduras spider which was a monster..It managed to get into another spider case and kill the other spiders...
