I noticed! Wish I'd waited for this rather than going for a certain other purchase.

If only it had an original engine though , seems expensive in that case .

Incredible cars & all but is it worth 4-5 350i's??? The price difference is far too great IMHO. The humbler Wedges should be £6-7k minimum for me. 450's around £12k etc.

How can it be a 420 SEAC when its got a 500 engine? to me its just another Wedge with a larger engine which makes it a 420 SEAC lookalike. It lacks originality and originality is what you pay for on a rare car like this. Sorry guys, its a nice looking car and all that but a bit optimistic on the price if you ask me.

Hi
I agree it's a bit pricy and its not original in many ways! But the colour scheme with the interior (Apart from the gear knob) is great! But these cars are so rare that it's nice to see its been saved even though it's not original. But take another couple of SEAC's which are being restored at present, I wonder what people will say when they hit the road again! Never mind some body will love the one for sale, but I wonder what price will it go for and how long before it's snapped up!

This is a car I knew very well ( and it's owner) I supplied the 500 engine, it previously had a 4.6L so at least fitting a TVR engine would be better. I admit the original block would be ideal but I believe it died in mid 90's. This car also is one of the 3 or 4 full race spec cars with full rose joint suspension, it had plenty of Kevlar to. I would say £17k is ok for a mint car like this, but I'm in no way involved with the seller. Tim

Maybe we should bang heads and come up with some sort of price guide for wedges..Addressing condition & Originality..But remembering a sellers price might not be an ideal buyers price for one of us..Throughout the two years ive been on here i have seen some really stunning car's go for silly money and then some not so good one's going for gold..Is it a trier's market?...Can we set a president to prices?..People speak of originality but how many of us actually own a totally original car?..All i see are people wanting more power..Upgrading this and that..Even upgrading to a 4-pot braking system which although might be better is still detracting from original..Personally im not too fussed as regards to originality ..If a car is well sorted then it will be well sorted..Theres nothing wrong with a bit of personalisation or changing parts for the benefit of the car...How much is a new same as your next door neighbour fitting in with the joneses who wants to look at boring car?..Compare it to the fun factor..The admiration and crowd pulling power and the grin size that our cars give us..There is "NO COMPARISON"..Ziga

Wow - it's stunning If the 5.0 engine was available when the seac's were being built you know TVR would have put it in there. Hope it goes to a good owner - because it looks superb.

Very hard to control or "pump up" prices for specialist cars like these, Typical iconics such as MGs, Jags etc attract the outside world far more, where you do see prices going up all the time. SEACs will always be disproportionately higher, they have a big reputation and racing kudos, most people looking for a SEAC will not be considering any other wedge or comparing them. for example they might attract say a Sag or Tuscan owner. I believe SEACs will reach £25K, that said all wedges will go up, they are astonishing value for money.

Very true...Maybe if i can keep my 30 year old 280 for another 10-15 years it should be worth considerably more as a 40-45 year old car then it does at present..Even then they will still be value for money..Long live TVRs.

There are two basic people who own TVRs and wedge owners are no different! There are the ones who want there cars as they are original or as close as they can be. Then there are the people who want more power and there own ideas for the chassis and suspension etc. Then they also want to customise the interior! Thats whats so great about a TVR you can do it!
I personally am in the first camp, I like my cars original as possible. I can also see what people want to do in the other camp, I don't like some of what people do but the thing is every one to there own choice.
It's not hard to get a car to a near original condition and a car in original condition in the future will always get a better price than a modified vehicle! This SEAC has been modified a lot, some of it is sympathetically done (Like the interior.) The engine has been changed to a later spec TVR engine, but at least its a TVR engine not a LS3 or 7 So in all its a great looking vehicle and it properly goes well!

Hi Gents had my 350i 8 years spent loads cash on the car and we do under value our cars, as these cars are becoming rare,as my Insurance company are not so quick to right/off our cars than they were a few years ago,and i agree about keeping the car to original spec,Crawford.
