Hi Chris..I have seen that ad for a while now..Looks interesting..I found this which is a quote from sprintex as regards to the S102..The pulley ratio that came with it equated to a ratio of 2:1 Maybe change the pulley sizes at some point to maximize boost..

"In terms of basic specs, the S102 had a theoretical displacement of 1.09 litres/rev, built in pressure ratio of 1.85 and a maximum recommended input speed of 13500 rpm (constant)"

Cheers..Ziga

Just found another bit of info...

Sprintex 27-07-11, 22:05

Standard setup should be around 6.5psi.

Staying within the 6,000RPM rev limit (?) the S102 can go up to 9.4psi, which on a 2.9 should give 286bhp with a drive ratio of 2.33:1. Any more than this and it'll overspeed.

I don't think many people realise, it's not just love between Zig and Delilah but more marriage, 'to love and cherish' 'in sickness and in health' and so on. You can't expect him to give up after all they have been through and I don't blame him. Well done Zig. You have taught us what loyalty is all about.

Tony. TCB.

I know you have a builder but you might want to find a copy of Sven Pruett's How to Build and Modify Ford 60 Degree V-6 Engine. And find some 3 port heads. Grady

You'll have to source some for him in the States, but I suppose it's not so important with forced induction. scratchchin

Cheers for the support and info..I have thought about three port heads..Even 3 port alloy heads..But..Although im still sceptical there were apparently test's done by a company that rebuilds colognes to 3.7ltr as to which flowed better..Siameesed or three port headers..The test apparently showed NO gain whatsoever..The siameesed manis do not restrict flow or cause turbulance..Plus do i really need big outlets and more ports with a supercharger?..Would that not let the air out too quick??..Alli race heads are a nice thought...Ziga

I always preferred the Ford Essex V6 for tuning.

This will fit (400+ bhp) ... and see off the RV8 boys. biggrin

Or fit the Ford 302 ?

Actually I think it (302) sounds remarkably like a RV8 in this vid:

Sorry to be a wet blanket here, but I feel I must call "Woah !!!" to some of these posts.

Look, it's a 2.8V6, not a V12 Merlin, and it's for ROAD USE. So IMHO, I think that more than 250bhp ish, is NOT going to be any good to drive around town, and frankly I'm a bit skeptical of even THAT.

I think that aiming for low to mid 200's is where you should be. Yes of course some builders have got huge power, they always do, but conveniently forget things like driveability, reliability, fuel economy and stuff like that.

Or put it another way - you spend sh*tloads of money for a car which accelerates so quick it nearly rips your head off, but is almost impossible to drive in traffic, jerks, coughs, uses lots of gas....are you happy ??

Remember the 2.8TT Capri came in 210BHP and 240BHP flavours, and most reviews said how fabulous the 210 was, for its flat torque spread and utterly nice traffic manners, with fantastic performance.

The 3 port heads don't give much extra on a road car (as far as I can read), and there's also the issue of where the extra exhuast pipe goes, and I understand the US 3 port heads had a reputation for cracking....and several articles say that actually, the INLET manifold gets restrictive before the siamesed port. (less of an issue for blown engines of course)

So please keep it real, otherwise you'll be disappointed in the end...

(sorry, but I felt it had to be said.....)

I'm sure Mark will 'keep it real', and just wants to use that blower. 250bhp is nowt to a Wedge in good nick. The gearing is fine for it, and it won't be revving any higher than before.

The rest is just us overgrown schoolboys having fun with our daydreams. smile

Well in honesty i would be happy with 200-250bhp max..And maybe i might just settle for less....Im not going to be driving it like im wearing lead boots..Not that i give a hoot about fuel economy anyway but more to the point of not wanting to stack whilst driving like a knob!..Traffic = 2nd gear idle crawl..I will be upgrading..Prop..UJ's..brakes..Suspension..Clutch and having the gearbox rebuilt..The car is going to RT sometime next year for a full body off chassis check and re-coat..Then all bushes...Bolts and nuts to be replaced where needed..New suspension set up and brake upgrade fitted..Yes its going to cost a fortune but i dont give a flying fk..If it cost's 10K and i can run it for the next ten years when it will be a 40year old car that still kicks arsh..Ill be chuffed as a pig in shyte..I have no commitments and you cant take anything with you when you leave this earthly place and so delilah will either go to my 2nd cousin who is becoming an engineer or i will be buried in it..biggrin

... 'til death us do part....???

We should have started with "Does anyone know of any lawful impediment why this man and this Wedge should not be joined together in holy matrimony, please speak now or forever hold your peace..."

Hmmm, If you look after the fueling and ignition and charge temp. to stop detonation, you can run Std CR and produce well in excess of 250Hp and due to the CR it will be as drivable as any NA 2.8 V6.

Don't forget the TT 280Hp version.
