After adjusting the body packing to even up the wheelarch clearance I found that the door close was about 1/2" out. So the door needed adjusting, a job I was not looking forward to as I had heard how tricky it was.

So out came the selection of 1/2" spanners and a 13mm one for good measure.

It turned out to be quite an easy job:

1. There are 4 1/2" nuts bolting the door to the A pillar.
2. Loosen off the 4 nuts until you can just about move the door (you'll need to close it from time to time and pull it upwards at the handle end).
3. I used a 13mm offset 12-point ring spanner and a 1/2" one. Each spanner was about 1/24 of a turn different so alternating the two spanners meant I could turn the nuts at the front of the car, well hidden in the hinge recess.
4. almost shut the door and then pull it up and down until the pinstripe lines up.
5. Tighten up the easy-to get to nuts (rearmost) and check the door shuts easily.
6. Do up the rear nuts (doing up seemed to be far more tricky than undoing.)

You may find that over time the body has sagged or flexed leading to the door close not working properly, bite the bullet and give it an adjustment!

Yes i have done this on my wedge and it was quite straight forwards but time consuming, probably a pain if you dont have the right tools though.
