Mirrors for son's Tasmin - source needed
Discussion
We found some mirrors that look close enough, have sufficient range of movement (would work either on top - as we have them - or on the side of the door).
They are Vitaloni Pronto universal mirrors. They are paintable, so they won't be staying in white as they are in today's photos. Note that the same model mirror works for left or right side, as you just assemble with the head on backwards for the other side.
way better visibility - and close to original look.
Now, opinions; we can pain the heads black, or we can paint them in body colour. This would only be the part that is currently in white, as the base and stalk will be left in the black they are out of the box. It is ultimately Stirling's choice, as it is Stirling's car - but it would be good to hear what the wedge faithful have to say.
Cheers,
Rob.

OK, to close the loop...
I sourced some mirrors from Vitaloni that suited the car, and had the appropriate size, and most importantly the range of movement required to mount on the top of the doors (where holes are already drilled). Not an ideal spot, a few inches forward would be nicer - but they do work fairly well.
And, as is clear in the photo, he decided on red to colour match to the car.

My 350i (Said by Mr Tank to be a serie 1 1/2...) has these kind of mirrors.
They are moving as a flag in the wind...
Any replacement available ???

If your mirrors still work the workings can be put into the latter door mirror pods as used on later cars! Thus getting rid of the flag flying in the wind!
TET moldings can supply you with the parts needed!

My local old fashioned motor spares shop here in Ludlow (Midway Motors) has a whole stand of different mirrors sizes and shapes. If you can find a similar shop then best just going through the stock. Alternatively buy an over sized mirror and get a glazier to trim it down.Cutting glass is their day job.

The road from South Wales, through the Brecon Beacons, Glasbury and across to Ludlow is stunning..... I regularly drive down to Swansea and Cardiff on business (to the exciting sewage works there!!!) and it's about 90 minutes. Just saying. Gassing Station | Wedges | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
