£7k is going to get you a cracking 350i. I think the best cars come up just after the summer, when people have had one last go of them. Unlike some that crawl out of the garage after a long winter and get a fresh MOT slapped on them and 6 months tax. These wedges may still be very good but gremlins could be lurking after being laid up for a while. Some like me ran the through the winter though.
Good luck on your search you will not regret it. View as many as possible and don't take your cash along with you, or as many will tell you, you will be parted with it once you hear the noise.

Cheers thanks for adviceive seen couple already one was clean but really needed reupholster so I've asked SCS for price by the way the interior venal or leather?
Seats are leather. Dash and transmission tunnel are vinyl. (AFAIK)Give links to the ones you're looking at. There's a chance somebody has been to see it.
Don't think you'll have to spend 7k, I got an absolute cracker for 4.5k. Some people are putting the prices deliberately high and just sitting on the car. Good ones go quick!

Most of the checks can be applied to most cars! Most of the horror stories are from the later speed6 cars, which have a different engine. These cars have a Rover lump which is more reliable than my Volkswagen!
Check the chassis for rust
Check coolant level: low = potential issues
Get car up to temperature and check radiator fans cut in while sitting
Clutch bite, too high or too low signify problems. Check for slip in 5th gear on the motorway.
Check for hot air from the cabin heater (no hot air can signify problems like water pump)
Check service history
Tyres must be good branded, walk away if they're cheap
Check for excessive smoke when starting from cold or revving. A little is okay.
Should rev cleanly and potter about town without any drama
Check brake fluid level: Low = issues
Brakes take a bit of force to operate but should pull to a stop cleanly from speed without pulling or juddering.
Don't let anyone fool you, the hood will leak

Hi Ben, if you interested in a Wedge come to the BBWF 2014 in June you will be spoilt for choice over fifty Wedges or more and a brilliant day out.Crawford
Will there be many plastered in for sale signs?Ive set June-July as the date i will start looking to buy.
But, unlike my last 2 car purchases i want to make sure i take my time and view a couple.
Don't know anything about it but this one appears to be very tidy indeed and under your £7k budget.
