Suspension strip down Q

Hi Glen
Yes you will need a spring compressor. Internal type is best. Using the external claw type scared the hell out of me. But that's probably due to having one come loose a few years ago. Ending up with me on the floor after a spring hit me in the chest.
But a lot of less crack handed people use them ok.
If you can get to mine later you are welcome to borrow mine. One of the other Lads has used it before with success.
Karl.

You can make a simple spring compressor: piece of rod and something so it stays under the front bottom wishbone. It replaces the shock and uses those mounting points.
No spring compressors required at the back, but use them sometimes for ease of installation of the spring.

Yep as Rob says. I made mine out of a bit of 12mm threaded rod, a couple of 12mm barrel nuts, loads of 12mm penny washers. The only thing I did that was a bit over the top was. I cut a bottom plate from 4mm steel plate and shaped it to fit inside the bottom wishbone and be secured by the shock bolts. A 19mm spanner on the bottom nut and a 19mm ratchet spanner on the top nut and your away.No spring compressors required at the back, but use them sometimes for ease of installation of the spring.

It's here for anyone to scrounge but has got come back stamped on it ;-)
I couldn't get the rears out without external spring compressors though? But that may have just been down to me fannying about
