Cant get the bloody thing out. Its tucked in tight and is difficult to get a spanner on.

Suggestions??

Could try a plumbers extendable tap spanner with half moon grip, just a thought as its earlyish morning, deteriorates s the day goes on,wooly.

I took the bonnet off, had a spanner that some one give me, they use it fot the ohc engine ,setting the tappets,like the letter L,IT IS TIGHT DOWN THERE,lick

Got it out finally. Christ it was in tight.

Puzzled though as it has a tapered head/thread. 13mm at the bottom and by the top of the thread its 14mm can this be right or has someone rethreaded it?

That's correct, it should be a tapered thread, just fitted a new sender this morning on the SEAC, not a lot of fun getting it in there but i do have a ramp to help with access plus iv'e moded my pump housing and the way the sender connects up do less chance of cracking the housing when tightening back up.
Got the new sender from the chap that took over TVR Car Parts.
