Got myself a GoPro Hero3 last year.
Picture quality is very good but I find you need an external mic for best sound when in the car.
Got a suction cup mount for the windscreen, I've tried a few different clip mounts, but get a lot of vibration when using them.

I use the free GoPro editing App.
The GoPro phone App to set the camera position but remember to turn the blue tooth off when your done (the battery life isn't fantastic) You can use an in car charger with a skeleton case.

Use mine in the car and on the Mountain Bike it can take a beating.
Over all I'm very impressed with it and don't regret buying one.

I'm sure others will have their own views but that's mine, hope its of use to you.

I got a black edition last year and its a cracking bit of kit, the way it works with your phone and as said the bat can run down fast but the quality is brill, I would say get a class 10 card for it and im using 64g which will give over 4 hours recording.

If you do a search for cambelski on you tube you will see some ove my vids and at the mo im using the go pro software but would like so get some thing more trick.

Got a good mount and a few extras for it and you will be able to have a lot of fun with it.

One of my biking posse hit 185 indicated on an Autobahn last year and his stayed on. The guys usually use a paracord tether as a backup.
I made a telescopic mast for my bike that puts the GoPro up behind me, sort of at the eye level of a pillion standing on the pegs... it's a bit like watching Super Mario, mind biggrin I'll see if I can find a clip...
