The spare 4CU I was fiddling with the other day has a sticker on it:

zycon systems limited
11 Hyatt Industrial Estate
Babbage Road, Stevenage
Herts SG1 2EQ.

It was out of our souped-up Rangey that unfortunately bit the dust (I have the 4.2l engine as well).

Anyone heard of this lot? I think they are long gone - company dissolved in 1994.

It also has a dial on it which I expect is for setting the mixture.

It runs in the 400SX - but down on power compared to the "special" on fitted by Dennis Priddle.

Of course that might come back up if I tweak the mixture thingy. I may try it on the BBWF rolling road (if I'm allowed an extra run).

My 'hot' ECU is a Sprintex-modified one from a 1988/9 Paris-Dakar Rangey. It uses a frequency-voltage converter to sample the ignition pulses (and hence engine RPM) and adds a bodgification factor into the analogue calculations - essentially ramping-up the fuel to match the supercharger it went with.
