Wow, that's f-ing awesome. Don't mean to be rude, but that's the fist thing that I said when I saw the photos. Looks better than mine and mine come from Arizona.

That centre box and unequal length manifolds really was an afterthought in the design of the wedge.

Alan has gone some way in improving his SEAC's ground clearance by having a custom box made.

I'd like to be able to completely redesign the exhaust system on the wedge but I don't see a way round of locating that centre box and at the same time having one with enough flow / back pressure performance.

I believe the Chim / Griff chassis is different and gets over this problem.

So many things IMHO were wrong or not quite right on the wedge - other than the sound smile

I suppose that's what makes the wedge a wedge.

The original centre box I had used to scrape on absolutely every speed bump,car park etc I used to take the car to but this new one is much better.

Its on its side to reduce its protrusion as much possible and I've only caught it getting it on a ramp...at that not station last year actually!

The other option was going to be either two slim cherry-bomb style silencers in the middle to get up into the chassis space but I decided that was just going to be too loud and likely to lose some of the "rumble".

The manifolds are just so tight to everything. They still rumble a little on the chassis but the best I can get them.

When I got the car they used to knock and bang like no tomorrow and it did my head in!

My system courtesy of Paul/GSX600 has no "over the driveshaft" pipe and the centre box pipe just comes back under the diff.

This is a much simpler layout and any grounding still occurs just at the centre box despite the lowest point being under the diff. This is of course because the back wheels raise the car over the hump just at the right time.

I also have a under the diff exhaust with a smaller silencer and it only occasionally bottoms out but only on the silencer which is still the lowest point of the exhaust. Defo made a difference to the sound and I think its quicker but I could be kidding myself.

I'm planning the under the diff option too, along with a second tailpipe on the nearside - a V8 needs two exhausts !

Yes I had it fabricated got some pics that I will post as soon as I have some time. Was going to go the twin pipe route but opted for single one on cost as much as anything else.

...and if I can find some money I'd like to go from single;

to triple by having a one in, three out rear silencer;

...however I prefer the look of the various aftermarket versions which got rid of the rear silencer as well as the oval tubes for three round of equal diameter with strait cut;

or rolled edge;

However I feel fibreglass Nick in Sawbridgeworth could help me pull this off only by producing the 2015 wedge rear valance upgrade;

Here's a recent Mototecnique restoration that also uses the latest wedge rear valance;

How dare they copy my idea.

Hi Phil...That would look bloody awesome...When i first saw the pic it was a few years ago and i don't think the SEAC had even been started yet..BUT...Since you have had all the chassis worked and with the outboards on i think it would work...The only problem is i think you would have to go OTT on the nose as well..Keeping the SEAC face but giving it a different smile...

Maybe something like this...Although it looks more like its saying..."Howdy doodie"in an over positive multi-sylibus kind of way....

Maybe Pagani...Or Koeni..yum yum..

Just don't paint it red as it will look like this baby...Im not a lover of Ferrari..More lambo..But i like it...

Right wheres the kleenex.....

Hope you are well mate..Should catch up again sometime...Cheers...Ziga

Hi Phil
Your project looks amazing.
What size discs are you using front and rear (Diameter & Thickness)?
Are the rear uprights standard or modified to mount the rear handbrake calipers?

Hi Mark,

Tricky to improve the front of the SEAC IMO other than maybe deeper spoiler. I like what one or two have done with alternative headlights doing away with the pop-ups.

All those super-cars are nice, especially in flesh. Of course used to see them all at my local coffee shop when the Arabs were in town during the summer.

That Koenigsegg makes a noise unlike no other. One of two Qatari princes had one outside Harrods a couple of years back and even on tickover the tarmac needed
re-laying.

Anthony,

I don't have the tech spec or AP invoice to hand but I seem to remember numbers around 360 x 32mm 6-pots up front & next size down at the rear with 4-pot calipers. The handbrake is the Brembo kit from GD Sportcars. Wheels are 18 x 9 front and 18 x 10 rear. The rear outboard brake conversion used parts from the later Jaguar, less weight due to more alloy than steel despite what some were saying about corner weighting.

Car's being stored while I save up more money to continue the work.

Having escaped house purchasing paperwork for the day I got a few more jobs jobbed.
Completed the front brake lines (no pic..)

After the 3rd attempt I managed to get the correct nuts for the ARB / Tie bar mounts (1/4 UNF BTW...) completing the front suspension apart from the shocks.

I also got some longer 1/2" bolts so the shank passes through both chassis lugs and the polybush, a bit of messing about wondering why One a-frame didn't fit I eventually spotted we had them mixed up - Doh, Hub and drive shaft chucked on to measure up for the new coilovers.

Also made a dummy PAS hose from the original one and found that the Peugeot PAS pump has the same fitting as the rover one. Putting the pump in front of the rack makes a very neat install however we did have to remove some of the rubber from the PAS pump mount as it fouled the ARB, send pictures and dimensions off to get some custom hoses made.

Rear Calipers had been despatched to BiggRed for refurb, some M1144 rear pads and fitting pins are on order.

I just hope the guy at work has managed to get the glued in bearing out !
