Another body off!

There was no way mine would go back in with the manifolds fitted....takes no time to fit them with no body on!
Same here, they are extremely close to the chassis so we decided for the sake of the powder coat to fit them once the engine was back in, Still much easier than trying to work on them with the body on.B@man said:
I can see a cheeky little trigger wheel behind the crank pulley, what size is it and what ECU system are you going for?I had a good look around the 420 SEAC at Burleigh last weekend, it had a CANEMS system on it, I also spoke to the owner and the fella who fitted it who gave me some really good advice too.
I think I might give it a go!

Hi Stu,
I'm running MegaJolt 3D ignition only at the moment ( see here,) which is working alongside the 4CU instead of the "hopeless" system. The trigger wheel came from trigger-wheels.co.uk and is their standard RV8 32-1 offering, plus about 4 spacers if my memory serves me, I did get the rear of the PAS pump pulley machined off to make enough space. There are some pictures in the above link.
As I'm already running EDIS megasquirt is a relatively simple conversion

Getting there...
Rear brakes back in, hydraulics completed.
After two attempts at painting and a bit of head scratching the prop was wiggled in.
Wideband boss welded into the nearside manifold and both manifolds fitted with stainless gaskets and those expensive bolts.
Finally I guess this means some plum has fitted the wrong water pump?

Looking very nice.
Coil-overs at the back, seems good.
Coil-over at the front, think it needs more strengthening as others have experienced that the wedge chassis is not strong enough in that area to be able to handle the required forces.
I could be wrong, would just like to point it out. Better check twice then be sorry once....

It's triangulated back down the original suspension tower by around 2" rather than hanging off the top tube only which as you say is pretty weak as only 1.6mm thick - although you can't see it from the above pic due the the angle.
Will have to keep an eye on it once she is back on the road.

More progress, slow progress but progress all the same.
The made to order mintex rear pads eventually arrived and dropped in with a set of new pins.
Front hubs have been stripped, bearing repacked and refitted, almost ready for the wheels !!
Track rod ends fitted and all castellated nuts fitted with split pins (previously a novelty that I can't belive was missed on at least 3 MOT's !)
That will be all for a week or as I'm moving house !
