Hi all
You may remember that a couple of weeks back I was looking for a classic yank to take my lad and his mates to their school prom. Due to various reasons (drop outs ,arguments about cost etc) this plan has not come to fruition so am going to take my son in the Wedge. However this has created a bit of an issue as it has left my sons best mate without a ride to the prom, frown so was wondering if someone could help us out by doing us a MASSIVE favour and drive him to the prom.
The prom is on the 16th July (next Wednesday) at 6:45 pm
The plan is pick up in grays Essex around 6:15 and have a gentle drive in convoy to the venue in Dunton Essex (about 9miles) and that's it.
Obviously due to the laws of hire and reward I can't pay you for the favour wink but can only reimburse you your expenses wink
If any of you kind outstanding gentlemen could help out I would be deeply indebted Please PM me if you can assist
Many thanks all thumbup

Would you settle for a slightly scruffy chimp, I could probably do this on the way home from work. I won't be offended if you would prefer a wedge.

IF I thought I could get there on time I'd love to, but I'm almost exactly the same distance the other side of London from most of Essex. Even leaving here at 4:30 (the earliest I could get away) would be pushing it to get there for 6:15 in "rush hour" traffic.

I hope you find a siutable car.

Unfortunately it's the slow ingress of American culture into this country rage - we'll be doing Thanksgiving and the 4th of July soon! lol

Yep, local high school did Proms night recently, however they did hold it in an ancient and most spectacular cider barn, attached to a fabulous cider producer called Dunkertons. New and old blending..........

Thanks for the offer fella - much appreciated - but I've already sorted it out with fatboychim. It's kind of local for him as it's on his way home from work!
Think the lads are going to enjoy it ! Hoping for good (roof down) weather for them

We had the same request on 27th June from a TVRCC member in Midlands region.

Wishing you better weather for roof off arrival than we had for the girls.thumbup

Big thanks to Andy (Fatboychim) for helping us out last night. The lads arrived in some style and the TVRs drew more than 1 admiring look. Not so good for all the stretch limos that turned up - access was too tight for them to drop off inside the grounds of the venue - all the passengers had to dis-embark in the lane at the front and they had to do the last 50 yards on foot !!!
Again thanks Andy thumbup

When people mention going to the Prom I assume they are talking about The Prom.

I really don't see the point in accepting american cultural imperialism when we have a much richer cultural history lasting a millennia.

Done a number of these in the last few years. You have to do your bit for the local yoof. Didn't know either of them beforehand this year but why not help out. TVR's always seem to steal the show though. There was evidently one particulary pissed new F Type owner when everyone ignored him, even the press.
