Grey chassis v white chassis
Discussion
mine was grey...car was from 1983....and when i sold it last year the original powdercoating was still present 98%...with first outtriggers and not a spot of waxoyl...all clean and tidy as it left the factory.
i can also confirm the same condition for 2 other cars (one FHC)..one i owned, the other i viewed...both around 1982 to 1983...none of them waxoyled.
all 3 cars mentioned above with high mileage!!!!

Two different types of powder coating...the grey is a non setting and the white is setting, both done externally, neither done to well, the grey if heated melts and drips off the chassis and 'skins' if rust gets under it, the white shows up the poor preparation and thinner coating with failings in high angle corners where the postive/negative charge of the process leaves these places 'dry'.

Here's a grey epoxy one I repaired a while back...Adrian@
