Am after some general advise please.

The current fitted shocks are the adjustable type and although they appear to be working they do give a very firm ride indeed.

I am looking to replace both shocks ( and springs if necessary ) and am looking for something that is general road use and arse friendly... I have no intention of participating in track days but then I do not want the back end to bunny bounce when I apply foot to the loud pedal.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I've not played with mine too much as yet but there's a pair of adjustable Konis on mine with what look like standard springs. Ride is just fine and certainly not too harsh.

Whey not just adjust them to make them softer? If doesn't take long and is much cheaper than replacing perfectly good shocks.

Is this trailing arm or A-frame? The flawed design of the former may cause issues with shock absorbers and springs set to soft.

I have struggled with my suspension until now since recovering from the SH Coilover conversion debacle a few years ago. Recently I changed my rear shocks to match the Gaz Adjustables I had to have specifically made to be put on the front. I now have Gaz all round with 275lb Rear Springs. The rears were re-valved a few weeks ago for a more compliant ride and I have to say the improvement is very noticeable - much more comfort to aid the now better handling plus you can stiffen or soften the ride to match your need. Our cars will never be as comfy over town type roads but you can have something decent all the same. Setting up the car takes a while but its worth matching the rears with what you have on the front. When you want to upgrade you just handover what you had before and they should match the spec with a better version from whats available.

Another factor is the seat cushion - if that has worn over the years then consider new seat foam for the retrim as that will also soften the ride too...
