...of sun visors.

The visors droop when going along bumpy roads and I'm forever pushing them back up. It seems worse in the hot weather.

Anyone else have this problem and how did you sort it?

Thought you were in Fife? Whats with the warm weather?
had the same trouble tho. No nail in the screws sorted it for me.

ps. I'm off work all August if you fancy a wee hoon around east lothian. I would suggest further afield but i'm not sure mine would make it just yet.

Take the visors off. Remove the two plastic ends that push into the visor. Wrap some insulating tape around the two end parts that you have removed and push them back into the visor. How much insulating tape to wrap is trial and error, but you need enough for a hard push in, to stiffen the visor movement. Then put them back. Do the same on the other side.

If all else fails. Ford Capri Mk2 has the same visors.

I tried that with a second set i bought and broke the clip...After refurbing my old ones they are as good as new...Which is strange as the clips haven't been touched...Ziga

Mark, you don't know your own strength. With the amount of power in those arms of yours, I'm surprised you drive a Wedge with power steering.

Taping up the clips is a delicate operation and should only be given enough push to make the movement a bit stiff. Not rammed in so as you can swing on them. Or, maybe, the old visors were just weak and brittle.

Hi Tony...Well i tried the Capri ones but they were well loose...When driving at 70mph they started to flap!..Which was very annoying as it was only my head that was pushing it back up again...When i compared the two..Wedge...Capri they were almost identical bar the securing pins which were slightly smaller in the Capri visors and the pins were not interchangeable..My Wedge ones are okay now that i refurbed them...I think its just the vinyl aperture that the pin goes through that is tighter now....Oooo do love a bit of vinyl...

Capri = 0
Wedge = 1
