"TVR 400 SE 1990 Moonraker Black/Magnolia (1990)"
Discussion
Hi Tony - HPI and DVLA are adamant this is not the same car but I believe the story that this could be the same car and have told HPI this even challenging them to cross refer all the new info. to see if it could relate to this car.
According to a previous owner the identity of the car was changed and subsequently restored - I have given HPI all this info. but they maintain their HPI records (rightly or wrongly) do not show any history with this car or its VIN/reg.numbers.
2 facts remain:
1. The car has NEVER been recorded/on any register;
2. Even if the story is correct the car hasn't been involved in any accident/damage.
As far as what happened to the car 60000 miles/21 years ago when its since had an engine rebuild I'd be surprised if anyone gave a monkies ....

Well, spoke to the winning bidder and he's as gobsmacked as anyone he got the car for the price with a 6 day old bid that was just a punt/bit of fun (not sure if it showed on ebay correctly as I couldn't find it using my 'phone but could on my PC?)!
In short he didn't expect to win and although he sounds a real gent is ambivalent about owning a TVR - He's not a PH'er and is happy to honour his bid/pick up the car (he's NOT local) OR we try and sell again and let someone more enthusiastic have it ... what to do...

When I heard that your advert was back on the auction site, I went in search to find it, but couldn't. The only way I could locate it was to look through the whole TVR section, one by one. So, what I think may have happened, is that maybe it wasn't in the correct category. Many others may have had the same problem as me. No wonder the winning bider was surprised. What I'm trying to say is that, it's possible you may get a better bid if it can be easily searched for through the right category. If both you and the buyer are happy, then go for it. I'm thinking, only you can decide whether re advertising may get better results and an enthusiast buyer.
