Is this an upgrade worth doing just for the sake of doing it? and if so recommendations please
Also
Can you still get spring compressors for the front spring change? if so where from?

Cheers Tim

What for? Front or rear? A-frame or trailing arm?

Bog-standard spring compressors will work - it's only a Cortina setup after all.

Front for now.

According to the Bible standard spring compressors won't work on the front springs.

Removed the damper and used threaded rod and various nuts and washers to do the front on mine, was fairly easy to do with no major fuss.
Yep that's what it says in the bible, just thought if there were some original ones out there I'd get myself a set

Only if you're a damp-eyed nancy-boy.

Here's one of mine:

Allegedly spring and damper rates were special to TVR... the Cortina should have been a heavier car, after all!

Hi Tim...Not 100% on the bushes but i have heard that the polybushes are okay if you intend to track the car which i shouldn't think you will be doing with such a nice Wedge and they can often squeak and drive you mad...I bought polybushes for the front..i:e ARB..Drop links and leading link but haven't fitted them yet so can't comment I'm afraid..I should imagine they stiffen the car up considerably.

The major difference between them and OEM type is cost, Especially if you are replacing all the bushes....Cheers...Ziga

My boggo standard spring compressors didn't work; I guess it depends on the design. I tried to use threaded studding but the nuts stripped the threads... there's a lot of force in them thar springy things!

I ended up buying a Steve Heath spring compressor thingy, which basically consists of decent quality studding and nuts which are about 20mm long. That did the job.
