Hi mate...You could try SGS engineering...They pretty much supply every strut known to man...You will however need to look on the original body of the strut you have and see if there is an "N" reference..This indicates the forces..Which i believe to be 100N...Anything else will be too strong and possibly end up in you breaking the glass...Its best also to measure the entire length when off and make a note of it...It might be best also to call them and discuss any issues...Cheers...Ziga

Yes - I got mine from SGS, worked perfectly but check the part number first and ask them for some electrical connectors for the heated rear screen. I sent them my old ones to match.

Just ordered bonnet and boot struts for mine, I realised it was about time to stop using my own replacement device !

Can confirm SGS are very helpful, ordered boot and bonnet struts, as the boot ones were completely gone. I remember swapping the boot ones to the bonnet years ago, so its apparent the heavier bonnet will wear them out quicker. I noted that both bonnet and boot struts were marked as 100nm (the original factory fitted ones).
I took SGS advice and went for 100nm for the boot and 150nm for the bonnet.
Only ordered them yesterday afternoon and arrived 9am today!
Both sets work very well. The bonnet ones are a bit quick towards the top end of the range, but they slow automatically just before full extension.
No more need for the wooden stick.

Fantastic, thanks for the great advice

tonight i will pick up Trevor from the garage, replaced headgaskets.
Im going to order the struts rightaway.

Also the driverseat has been repaired, it was waiting to be fitted and sitting in the corridor for weeks.
cant wait to fit it, i feel like a child on christmas eve.

last month the nose of the car has been straightend out and resprayed, next week the rest. ( i just turned 26 and some say i should spend my money on "wise" things, so step by step)

Still to do, find an S1 front spoiler, the original decals and all new veneer inside ( doesnt look that bad, but i have an obsession)
Car has to be as "good" (or should i say 'okay' ) and original as when it left the blackpool factory gates.
I will post some pics soon.
