I just booked on the normal rate.
I figured that by the time I remembered to ring that woman on a friday I would miss out anyway!
Well there are 10 rooms for the Friday night and 20 for the Saturday...The staff on the front desk always seem confused when people ring up to book under the "Wedgefest"...Thats why its best to speak to her as she is the events manager.

I will find out WTF is going on...Ziga

We are pretty new to ownership and attended our first Growl last year, following event information via the facbeook page. We only recently became aware of problems with next years booking and were directed to Pistonheads to read up on what was happening.

The impression i get is that a joint event is considered a goer (thank you) and on that basis we have booked a full rate room for the Fri & Sat nights.

My question is wether there is a list somewhere we need to register on so that you know potential total numbers for a combined event. Just thinking about Car Parking allocation and of course I'm sure vendors will want to know how many people may be attending.

Hope this makes sense and thanks again for considering a joint event.

Merry Griffmas everyone

Hi and thanks for the feedback, I did consider a private "Who's coming" list as i feel its asking for trouble publicly advertising that people will be away from their homes all weekend..So this is probably the way i shall do it, Also as you say i need to know actual numbers so that the areas i designate for the event is more than satisfactory for all attendee's.

It was unfortunate that a placing for the GriffGrowl could not be secured but as I'm sure it was pointed out to them also as regards to the booking events situation for 2015 and beyond.

I merely used my noddle and booked before i left the venue on the Sunday.....I wasn't planning on using this date up until recently but thats another story.

The issue with rooms is not only confined to the Chase and this is why I'm urging people to book...Even if they might not be sure even if they can make it yet but at least its secured.

In the past the food at the chase has been disgusting!..But i must say that this year the new chef certainly made a massive difference...So i would use this option again..Also knowing numbers helps me to secure enough room in the suite to house and entertain us all..

As said i love all TVR's and there will also hopefully be coming some very nice prototypes... smile

Im looking forward to it....Sheeesh...Id better book a room.....eek

I have posted on the Griff Growl Facebook page suggesting that anyone not already aware of developments get on to Pistonheads and read up on what's happening. A few quick replies show people who were unaware and some who are booked up for the weekend already.

I'll keep checking back here and update those on Facebook accordingly.

Booked in at the Chase earlier today, but unfortunately some interlopers appear to have nabbed the standard rooms for the Friday, so have had to upgrade. No problem with the Saturday night though, just had to prove my Wedge credentials in the usual secret-society manner. biggrin

I was told yesterday that there are only 4 rooms available at the entire hotel now for that weekend...So you may need to find alternative arrangements..Contact me if you are considering coming as i will need to know how many to cater for...I have put first refusals on any rooms that get cancelled in between now and then...There may also be people who have booked and are not sure about attending so they will be firmed up before the spring so there could possibly be the odd room coming up....Cheers...Ziga

I've got an 8 man tent - plenty of grass area around the car park - very reasonable rates! I can even provide the night time bucket, with lid!

Hi Peeps...As its February already then i need to start planning the weekend of BBWF 2015...At the moment i have found a couple of interesting things for the runout but more about that later..I have spoken with the rolling road and they may be fully booked up so that might be a non-starter unless i can find someone else..This all depends on numbers..

The Friday night meal looks like its a no go also as most of you couldn't get a Friday night room booking..Unless alternate accommodation can be sorted..

Im not sure what the Griffs are doing yet as I'm waiting to hear from their organiser...So I'm going ahead with the planning of the Wedgefest 2015...I think it better if we keep it this and have the Griffs as quests...Hopefully we can all participate in the weekends activities and all have a laugh..It could always be a "Griff invasion" of the Wedgefest..Although we'll know they are coming...And be prepared...(Recycled cardboard & Paint friendly tape only please) ...hehe

I will arrange to have an Auto-valet and hopefully some guests will come along that can give some good advice on the care and repair of TVR leather...

There will also hopefully be some traders, Mainly for the Griffs but some will be for us...If they can come..

As far as the evenings entertainment we have our very own "Elvis Wedgeley" although he might be singing from the Wedge this year if he puts on any more weight..I mean muscle...laugh........scratchchin.....Actually thats given me an idea....

Anyone up for Karaoke ...?

Not sure who will be up for the "Wedge personality award" this year...Although i know someone who knows i know that they deserve it but won't accept it..You bugger...You know who you are..

Do we have a favourite colour for the logo...?..

We will also need stuff for the raffle..Charity auction and auto-jumble again please...

As always i will keep you all up-to-date with any progress..

Cheers...Ziga

I find it truly unbelievable that the griff organiser still hasn't had the manners or professionalism to confirm if they are coming or not. Truly inconsiderate. Shame on the rolling road. I was hoping to get at least 2 bhp more with my new fuel regulator.
