I don't have a spare tyre in my 400. I do have a can of spray foam stuff and a 12v tyre compressor.

Just reading my breakdown cover, it states I am not covered for a flat if I do not carry a spare.......

unless you want to end up stranded in the middle of nowhere with a gash in your tyre that spray foam stuff won't touch and your breakdown provider refusing to send help I'd say yes smile

Thanks.

Anyone got a spare spare? Or know what would fit?

If you come to BBWF more than likely there will be yet another space saver in the raffle ;^)

I use a space saver and it has got me home a couple of times, for some reason flats and slow punctures seem more common in the last few years.... takes up less room in the boot. Quite "interesting" to drive on, though!

Thanks.

I could get one from a scrapper if I know which ones would fit.......

I copped a chunk of metal that ate into the side wall and took a chip out the arch. No amount of foam was going to sort that. Scary doing 70 miles on a space saver at 50 but it got me home and avoided the low loader.

Interestingly, a few hire cars recently and all they had were re inflation bottles of goo. No spare.

I wouldn't have thought you would need to worry about off-set on a space saver!

I thought the whole point was a fullsize spare rather than a spacesaver....

Cheers, Al.

No all cars carry a spare these days.
My 400 has one but it's somewhere in my ex loft....

I have two different size wheels on mine so there isn't room for full size anyway....

Apart from anything else a full size wheel with tyre weighs 17kg, but a spacesaver maybe about 7?
So a significant weight saving.
