Found this on the other side of the sump assuming its an oil level indicator. Is this meant to be connected to someting or did TVR just snip them like they usually do?

asked this just after I got car got some weird answers ie you anorak it's the drain plug went elsewhere and got told it is a vittesse sump which were fitted with oil temp unit most people have snipped off connector that hung down from it.
looked and sounded right

Yeah that would be my guess jock. It is fitted to a probe about half way up inside the sump opposite side of the drain plug. Just curious to be honest.

Rover SD1 with the EFi V8 engine had oil level warning, not implemented on the TVR as far as I know.

if its there i would use the thread and stick an oil temp gague in the car. Something i should have done but didnt when i had the car in bits frown

Yes I think it's a level sender.

They are great I have one in the P4 and you press a button on the dash to change display of (I vaguely recall) fuel over to oil level. You can check the level while you are driving!!!
