Hi gents,
Does anyone know of a source for the knob on the steering column that adjusts the brightness of the lights on the dash?

And secondly, I just removed my rear top section to get some work done. All three of the fasteners along the rear have turned to dust. Does anyone know what they are or can describe them? Are they carriage bolts maybe?

Thirdly, Does anyone know of a source for the interior lights on the panels on the shelf behind the seats?

Charlie

Or do you mean the knob rather than the switch? Still from Rimmer Brothers.

The interior lights are nothing special; I think I got replacements from a scrapped VW of some sort - they were a lot brighter than the originals.

They certainly do, I'd struggle to say that mine were different - they were definitely Hellas though.

Great help guys on the knob and interior lights.

Any idea on what the fastener is that holds the top to the body on the back edge? 3 of them evenly spaced?
Come on MRZIGAZAGA don't let me down now!

Mmm...If you are talking about the trim that goes around the edge of the upper inner parcel shelf that the hood is tucked under then i think i had to use something like an anchor bolt like this but the screw head was like a regular round cross head so that a cover cap..(Like the number plate screw cap covers) could be fitted over it to hide the face...

I will call the guy tomorrow who helped me fit them to Delilah..He will remember what they were called as he had to let me have 5 as there were around 6 on mine and most had pulled through the fibreglass...He did keep mentioning how expensive they were...hehe

Cheers..Ziga

A lot of the captive studs that were used on TVRs were made by BigHead bonding fasteners down in Bournemouth. They're a stud resistance welded to a steel plate with holes in it for resin to infuse into. They were set into the GRP most of the time or riveted on. Wedges are full of them. I got some Stainless ones direct from the manufacturer. Fifty quid minimum order, but it was well worth it.

I made my own back in 2001 for the sills from offcuts of stainless sheet with M6 stainless studding welded on and a few random holes drilled through.
Twelve years later the nuts just unscrewed biggrin
